In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.
Part of a multi-media franchise also including a series of light novels and manga. The story is by Jun Maeda and character design by Na-Ga, both from Visual Arts/Key Studios, creators of Kanon, Air, and Clannad. Subs are out already, I'm waiting for Static Subs release.
i can't help but notice, araragi is in it?
the animation kinda sucked though(well it's normal)... but the band diversion part was good
=> Downloaded it
=> Saw the average animation by skipping through it
=> Couldn't be bothered to watch it
Anyway, I was expecting KyoAni quality animation here. P.A works did Canaan and True Tears, both had really nice animation. I setted my expectations too high...blame them for doing a full advertisement on a normal newspaper. I was expecting sky high budget since they're wasting money like that. Bleh...
ANN liked it, meaning I wouldn't like it. My opinion is always opposite of them...
I want another AIR/Clannad instead...
I don't really get all the hate, sure it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the word. Just extremely generic. Its still the first episode, still could be good in the end...I guess. Its a Haruhi clone so it really won't be that bad right?
and lol Clannad
Yuri is not really all that much like Haruhi judging from the first episode.
Well...I expected the animation to be better. That random gradient colouring is just to cover the low frame rate. I'll take high frame rate over detailed frames. I was expecting some pretty eye candies...
The concert scene was good...and Kamiyan Kamiyan Kamiyan Kamiyan Kamiyan (to be honest, I don't understand why is Kaimya Hiroshi so popular...)
I haven't even seen the episode yet...just skipped through the episode. So all my comment is just about the animation. I'll watch it eventually
if she appears to be tsundere then we might see haruhi in this
First good bishojo anime I've seen in a while. I feel somewhat certain there won't be to much moe crap. The plot has potential, there seems to be a lot of room for Key Studio tragedy, the characters are engaging. Don't care to much about originality, if I did I wouldn't bother with anything in this style. Kaimya slipping in an "I'm in despair" and a bishojo heroine named Yuri made it that much better
So Yuri tells that no one in the afterlife school world died because of suicide. interesting.
wow they put heavy effort in animating the diversion part, specially the drummer's scene(some of their songs are not that good, specially the last song).
but seems like this is the last time they'll be able to use their diversion tactics.
And i now have an idea for the possible direction for this plot.
DAMN! now i really like it, since there's a new vocalist and opening.

Episode 2 started developing more of a Key feel to it. Nice. Yuri's back story was so sad, her brothers and sisters being murdered. The action was great, especially the show down with Tenshi. Hopefully the relationship between Otanashi and Yuri is further developed, they'll make a great couple.
typical Key writing, the melodrama is ham-handed that it's more humorous than actually being sad. "Derp lets juxtapose a laughably tragic past with some humor in the first part of the episode!!!!!" >.>
episode 3 was even more generic, but the 4th one was nice. Yui saved the show imo
I'm really enjoying this show, though I've never actually watched a Key show. I'm really liking the surreal concept, and the show manages to make laugh and feel for the characters. The second and fourth episodes were hilarious !
