I liked it damn lot! It was awesome. I loved all the random jokes, and Otters mental battle with his otter-self and human-self was hilarious. Also how he developed from an anti-hero justice fighter into a merchandise gag was epic.
I'm not sure though if it would work as a series. Many jokes came from Bakuman references, and some things like randomly introducing the man faced otter wouldn't been that funny if we already had known but his (it's?) existence.
But the setting was wonderfull. I loved the atmoshpere which spawned from placing something so surreal as a human-otter in a completly realistic enviroment.
I'd love to see more of this. Maybe not as a series, but occasional one-shots. Other Bakuman mangas would be welcome too, but I still think Otters is my favorite conpect of them all.
I was really impressed by that. The art was funny on it's own, and the gags just made it better. It somehow made the weird...normal.
It was really good. It was interesting to see Hiramaru expressing his past frustrations as a salaryman page after page, the Otter's speech about work... the nonsense of all the situation of an Otter-man living a normal life in the society... pretty good.
I'm hopping for more Bakuman Spin-Off One Shots.
Man I want the continuation so badly I'm almost punching the wall with my super rock hands.
I loved all the references "Do you enjoy your job?", all the Yoshidas and everything else.
I'm really impressed by how Obata-sensei can change his art so much.
I really want to read the continuation now >.<
I love how not-so-subtle Hiramaru is. This chapter was especially funny because of the Bakuman and Death Note references.
another chapter will run in next week's jump
only a matter of time before it becomes a full-fledged series
