From kodansha light novel site
Cover for novel. It takes place in 743. The characters in the novel are not those from the manga, though. Isayama is not involved either, so...
Probably a week or two from now?Quote:
The cover is pretty. Wonder if this will be a standalone or the first from a series..
Do you know who is the author of this novel?

Isayama Hajime officially announced/admitted that he copied Muvl-Luv Alternative for Shingeki no Kyojin. I wonder if this will have impact on SnK's popularity.

I don't really see this as being TOO MUCH of an impact given that Muv-Luv is still first and foremost a romance rather than a post apocalyptic survival manga. Sides extra-terrestrial beings wiping out the planet isn't anything THAT UNIQUE, Angel Notes anyone? Moreover, its not a mecha used to fight back against the titans but people. UNLESS of course Shingeki no Kyojin actually ripped lines or scenes off Muv-Luv word for word or at least a paraphrase of it then that would be quite damaging but otherwise if its just the concept of the plot I wouldn't think it to be anything too affecting, its still very much his own.

I guess that'd mean we can soon expect to get apologies from 90% of all shounen action mangakas for copying Dragon Ball and the likes

Can anyone translate what the announcement actually says. There is a huge information gap as to what is actually meant by "copied". If all he is saying is that the plot of Muv Luv inspired Shingeki, who cares. If he actually copied art, that's plagiarism and the end of the series. Until there is some clarity as to what he "copied" this bit of news is rather meaningless.
Personally, if all Isayama wrote is that he read Muv Luv and it helped inspire Shingeki, that is hardly news that would impact the series. Kubo Tite stated that the he was inspired by characters from Honey and Clover when he first designed Ichigo and Orihime. Yamada and Orihime are near identical, and I don't think anyone was ever bothered.
Well, he uses the word "pakuri" that means plagiarism. Saying he really influenced by it. I think it's more like a neta, a topic for people to talk about. Some haters like Yarabuta really love the bait, I guess.
Never played Muvluv myself, so I can't comment about it.
