There are a lot of youkai in Nurarihyon no Mago. Whether it's from traditional myth or original made by Shiibashi. For the youkai from myth/folklore, we can also see them appearing in another works that have youkai in it.
This thread is made for the purpose of youkai appearing in another type of works, whether it's in another manga, anime, game etc so we can compare about the interpretation of each youkai by different author. Of course, it's limited to youkai that appear in Nurarihyon no Mago only.
You can share your find in this thread and discuss about it.

GeGeGe no Kitaro:
From Kitaro Daizenshu (manga)
Kitaro Daizenshu is collection of Kitaro story before Gegege no Kitaro, and it have several different setting than Gegege. For one, while Nurarihyon in Gegege no Kitaro is a boss youkai, in Hakaba no Kitaro Nurarihyon is a terrorist youkai who disguise bombs into books etc.
For the one in Nube, Nurarihyon is actually a guest god there. In the manga, it's said that in the past every house have a kamidana where people give offerings for the guest god.
For Inugami, in Nube Kuchisake-onna is actually descendants of people who sacrificed dogs to make inugami and in the end they are possessed by the inugami and have their mouth stretched.
The shoukera's design in Nube is straight from Toriyama Sekien's, a black beast-like youkai, while Shiibashi's is following the original belief of sanshi (shoukera's model) as insect in Tao's teaching.

Inuyasha is filled with yokai!
I thought the youkai in Inuyasha are all original? Is there any youkai appear in Inuyasha that also appear in Nurarihyon no Mago? Post the pic if it does, please. I stopped reading Inuyasha in the middle because it's too long, so I don't really grasp the youkai appear in the manga.
Interesting topic, I guess I will check my volume of Nononba back in Paris to see if I see any that are similar. There are a lot of Youkai in Shigeru Mizuki works, he even wrote a Youkai dictionary
That would be great.
We can say that Shigeru Mizuki is the father of youkai manga, as he was the one who started youkai manga boom after WW II. Even one of the youkai in Nurarihyon no Mago, Hari-onna, is an original youkai made by Mizuki.
I don't have the time to find/link/post all the images right now, but this is definitely a fun topic! Here's a few off the top of my head:
I feel that there should be more examples in Shaman King, as well as in various CLAMP manga.
There's also Hyakki Yakoushou and Natsume Yuuinchou, both of which are non-shonen manga with a hefty amount of youkai (or youkai-ish appearances).

Added youkai from Megaten series in first post. Can you post pics for the youkai in manga/movie/game mentioned in your post? I have Yuyuhakusho one, and I may be able to find Gantz and Shaman King. But I never followed the other.
I did some quick searches for a few of them and added links in my post. I'll try to find more/better images when I can... but I can't add my own images in the near foreseeable future.
For Shin Megami Tensei lets just say the list you have at the moment still does not come close to covering all the youkai it has - in addition to Japanese deities probably best to just link to the Megami tensai wiki since that has both images and info (its far too vast). Its pretty much the most comprehensive in terms of youkai lists - and with the later art work accuracy as well - well then again its focus on researching all sorts of supernatural beings is its charms~
I don't see Ushio and Tora mentioned here.
Take a look at it. It has many, many youkai. Also Kekkaishi has some akayashi, but not necessarily youkai.
Megaten has lots of youkai, but I only put those who also appear in Nuramago.
I'm not following Ushio and Tora, can you post pics for them? It seems they also have Sanmoto in the manga.
ZOMG lol, there's 33 volumes of Ushio and Tora, so there's likely more youkai than in Rikuo's hyakki yakou...
Maybe pm me a list of what youkai you want before I even decide to dig thru' 33 volumes of manga for you?
Love the updates! Thanks for posting all the images.
Just one error however: the Nekomata under Kekkaishi is not from Kekkaishi but in fact from Ao no Exorcist.
Here's a pair of tengu from Hyakki Yakou shou (they're not really crows, but the same species as the author's pet birds):
They also have bird forms (lose power during the day) and human forms (disguises themselves poorly as 'humans') in the manga.
