3000th post in your thread!
Is 3000 suppose to be a lucky number?
I don't know I just wanted to post here.
HEY! stop poking.
How's uni coming along? have you made any friends yet?
YOU stop poking!
Uni's going pretty well. I'm getting used to all my lectures and classes, and how much work I have to put in, etc.
I've made plenty of new friends, thank you very much.
YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!
That's good to hear. Are you in everyday and what classes are you taking?
Alright, I was just asking, jeez Do you have many friends from your previous school with you there?
Yeah, everyday. I have a prac or a tute nearly every day, so I can't just stay at home and listen to lectures online. I'm taking biology, chemistry, psychology and Japanese.
There are quite a few of my friends from high school, and I still hang out with them, if we have the same breaks. Though I've been hanging out with my new friends quite a bit this week.
Ahh it's so awesome that you can take japanese there; preps you well for future trips there.
Have you been thrown straight into the deep end of the assignments or is it still introductory stages? and do you guys have a "freshers" week there? where the student union holds a bunch of events/ parties/ pub crawls and such?
Nah, not yet. It's pretty chill so far. They haven't even told us about the details of our assignments and stuff yet.
Yeah, we had o-week (orientation week). There were also heaps of camps for each of the faculties, but I didn't go. There were pub crawls as well, but yeaaahh, I'm underage.
I will be expecting "heaps" of stuff from when you eventually go
I figured as much. The first few weeks of uni and even months, are to get you used to the system, introductions and refreshers and regular lessons/labs. It wasn't until just before Christmas that we got our first assignments and through the year we only got assignments and I had just 2 exams . Ahh but I hope you still enjoyed your o-week and getting to know things about your uni. What is the drinking age in Australia, 18 or 21 like the States?
So when you say Christmas, you mean... about 4 months into the academic year? And you only got two exams? Whhhaaaaa?! My chem exam is worth 75% of my final mark.
Yeah, o-week was pretty fun, though it was raining the entire week. Made some good friends during the week, so that made up for the weather, hahaha.
The drinking age is 18 over here.
Yes..about 4 months; which is plenty of time for faffing around and not doing much. First year was such smooth sailing. We usually had 3+ assignments through the year per module, with the highest being worth 75%; in most cases those were the exams but seeing as we didn't have many of those; assignments it were! and such fun projects too. Really enjoyed my first year...then shit got serious .
Nice silver lining though. It's been snowing here again since yesterday, had to wear snow boots to work; looked ridiculous. Upside is seeing people in town going out and women in heels trying to walk across the ice and snow. I'm sure there's a few of them at A&E.
So you've never even touched alcohol up until now? such a good daughter I raised
