Anyone watch Spartacus? I know a few of the mods watch this series... If not, I highly suggest that you do~
- Lots of action
- Lots of blood/gore
- Lots of Nudity
- Great historical setting (Roman times)
- Great storyline: Betrayed by the Romans. Forced into slavery. Reborn as a Gladiator. The classic tale of the Republics most infamous rebel comes alive in the graphic and visceral new series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. - Description copy/pasted from the youtube description ^^;;
- Manipulation and betrayal abound~
- And of course: Sex
Just a warning, the series is very NSFW so if you're embarassed of someone seeing you watch nude scenes (of both guys AND girls) then be careful~
The first season has already been completed and the prequel is just starting. I highly recommend this series. :3
Official trailer for the first season: Youtube (HD Version)
Official teaser for the prequel (Spartacus: Gods of the Arena): Youtube (Currently out with one episode)

Guess what c_k? I actually have seen like the first three episodes and I like it I will now do my best to catch up.
I've never watched this show, but i defintely heard of it....For all the wrong reasons.
The nudity and gore is definitely over the top, But at the same time, its quite amusing. There will be a scene of someone just walking through the streets and there will just be random naked people here and there. I almost think they do it just for the heck of it.
But besides that, there is so much more to the show. It really is a very intriguing story and one that definitely draws you in with all the backstabbing and plotting. Its a must watch for me.
Just saw episode two and it was great~~~ but !! when...
Overall, good episode and I can't wait to see how Crixus matures as the fighter he will soon become~ :3
OMG. Your thread makes me want to buy immediately a complete season of this one.
Which network is this aired?
@steelwingcrash1: At Starz unless I'm mistaken. I don't hold much knowledge when it comes to American channels/networks.
the new season is great but i wouldnt recommend the show for people uncomfortable with looking at schlongs and sex scenes, its for an adult audience afterall.
Just got the chance to watch ep. 4 and I must say...
Well, I didn't find episode 4 as boring as Vinty stated; it was just ok for me, although like he said...
Anyway, only 2 more episodes left...
@JetPistol: I DID post that the show has lots of nudity and that it's very NSFW~ You can even tell by the trailers... It's definitely a mature show.
Well... it wasn't that I felt they were boring per se ( a 'boring' ep of Spartacus still beats good or great eps. of other series :3)... it's just that they weren't that exciting to me.
Sure, I'm interested in seeing how Ashur became the way he is ( his translations and non translations are entertaining) and many other things, but they just felt slow to me. Whether it be Tullius, Solonius, how Crixus and Lucretia start their affair, or what happens to elder Batiatus... I guess I was just hoping for more progress. I don't know. Even the fights in the arena weren't that exciting compared to others we have previously seen e.g. Gannicus fighting blindfolded.
In the end, I just hope that there is some awesome twist to everything. If I recall correctly, when I was watching the first season, I really thought that Ashur was going to betray Batiatus and when he didn't... I was pleasantly surprised.
Edit: By the way, I noticed this past week that the episodes are on Netflix the next day in case anyone has that and wants to watch the show.
Well, I must say... ep. 5 was no where close to being boring.
Did anyone watch the finale?
All I have to say was that was a great ending and I'm sad that the season is over. I think they could have stretched it out at least another two episodes...

I have to admit I dropped this show...the setting and the plot isn't that original and there's too much cheap fanservice with all the nudity...though vin's post made me laugh, and they probably do it just for the heck of it...anyways, the fight scenes are messy, not even mentioning the computer graphics used in these fights...epic fail IMO
