Amazing amazing art, and definetely worth sitting at scanlating till 2:30am. You better enjoy as much as I did, or else *shakes fist*.
epic chapter, finally Thorfinn got him some resolve!
The art was great in this chapter, especially when Thorfinn was crying manly tears and manned up
can't wait to see where Part 2 will take us, but there's still the issue of them being slaves and getting executed
time to run away I guess
wow, wasn't expecting a chapter at this time of night, much awesomeness and mead to the scanlators. Particularly as who knows what country they live in, it could be even later there..
Neh jokes over, read the whole of that with a smile on my face. Which is odd, because having that dream every night I'm surprised he sleeps at all..
Nice Berserk referencing too
I must have missed that notice or something. Where did you see that, because as is it just says the farm arc was resolving, but they still need to do a bunch to get off the farm or pay for their freedom.
Great chapter as always.

That means the first part of the slave arc is nearly finished.
An awesome chapter that was, I didn't expect Thorfinn to change this much in only one chapter but it won't be easy from here on. (Askeladd appearing made my day, what a great speech ) I'm curious to see how they will do from now on, an escape seems possible but not likely, as the slave arc will continue.
Now Thorfinn finally understand what his father said to him back then, still I wonder if we won't see any more violence. Yukimura is a great mangaka but there has to be a clashing point at some point, maybe he will use Canute.
What a splendid climax for the arc! Also, nicely connecting old and new parts of Vinland Saga.
Thorfinn's promise makes me so tense for the future. Will Vinland Saga really turn that much? Or just shift attention a little off Thorfinn and follow people like Canute and Thorkell again?
Too sad their won't be a chapter in february, but after such a great one I'ld almost say they deserve that break. And, I guess just from predicting after the ending of Ch. 71, that the next one will be great as well.
What an incredible chapter! The art was top-notch and the character development was interesting and wonderfully executed! The whole chapter had a very epic feel to it.I loved it.
Yes indeed very beautiful chapter! And ZOMG, Askeladd! he hath returneth I don't expect to see him again but an Askeladd cameo is really something!
I just can't believe the "no violence" though. Very strong words from Thorfinn, (and askeladd again- "Become a real warrior, Thorfinn!!") to be reborn- He becomes like his father so much!
But I cannot forget Canute, and the rest of the world is still waging war... The manga can't just be all peaceful. I sense ill tidings approaching
this is now turning into a farming manga, 'til the old man find thurfin and buys him back with a talk to the grand master i guess
just read the whole stuff in two days, i shall say this has come to a disapointment... i guess i'll just wait a couple of years, that's about 20 more chapters right ? to see what happened in the meantime
awesome drawings and fights, but if the author is going all about history and christianism in farming paian countries of early middle age, this could be interesting in the end
my guess is that somehow thurfinn's homeland had been wrecked, and he will turn back to berserker somehow... or become a priest, the end.

Well, see, I guess there's the clincher.
He decides to fight the real battle (which is life, probably) and become a warrior. But the thing is, his life is so heavily influenced by the current situation which is Canute waging war all over the place. It's like, until there is no peace for everyone, not even Thorfinn can live in peace, maybe.
His father could have easily said, killing was not the answer, and so he turned his back on being a soldier and that was fine, he lived in peace with kids, etc. But that was because there was no greater cause to fighting anyway. He didn't have any good reason to fight.
Now, Thorfinn on the other hand, lives in this time where some political shifts are taking place, where there is obviously reform happening and that apathy is clearly the wrong way of going about things. So I think this is what will force him to act.
Thorfinn Karlsefni (thôr'fĭn kärl'sĕvnē), fl. 1002-15, Icelandic leader of an attempt to colonize North America. He appeared in Greenland in 1002 and married Gudrid, widow of one of the sons of Eric the Red. He set out c.1010 with an expedition consisting of three ships and 160 men to settle in Vinland, which Leif Ericsson had discovered a few years before.
