Michael "Air" Jordan is my all-time favorite player. He was absolutely amazing!
I was such a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls during the Bulls-Jordan era, I have never been into basketball as I was when MJ was playing in the Chicago Bulls. Oh those awesome Finals games~
And who can forget the legendary “flu” game, or his famous buzzer beaters, or the dunks, or the Bulls introduction, one of the best lineups ever without a doubt!
This is my favorite player, but what about you guys? Who is your favorite player?

In the tennis world, no one bests Nadal and Djokovic for me. They're pretty serious players so they earn my respect.
None other than the great Pete Sampras. He was such a simple man and a great Tennis player. He always had good words for his opponents.
Shaq he was a great but also very funny guy, MJ greatest of all time, deon sanders prime time
I'd probably say Payton Manning he is gonna own most of the QB records when he hang up his cleats and does it with make shift receivers every year
It not a single player per se. But the entire early 90's Dallas Cowboys \m/ \m/. Winning two Superbowls back to back. Hell to the yeah, baby!
Basketball-Michael 'Air' Jordan
Football-Walter 'Sweetness' Payton
abby wambach and george st pierre
Sabine Lisicki, James Harden
It's really hard to answer that question because of this:
Jordan, Ali, Lance Armstrong, ... For how many is the above picture a reality ?
I don't consider Michael Jordan or Ali assholes. Ali had been arrogant to a point but he was a fantastic entertainer and knew how to get a reaction.
Lance Armstrong yes, because of how he lied to the public for so many years, and then to finally admit it like that.
My favourite athletes....I've always liked Michael Jordan and Mohamed Ali, their greatness in their respective sports can't be denied. Adding to that, Usain Bolt, Michael Johnson, Jonathan Edwards, Michael Phelps, Roman Šebrle, Serena Williams, Jessica Ennis; who is possibly my favourite female athlete.
Thinking now, I don't think I could be able to choose one athlete as my favourite, I guess it'd depend on the sport.
I never liked Jordan. He was a great player, sure, but David Stern more or less fixed games at times. Jordan is apparently an asshole off the court as well; there's a reason Scottie Pippin turned on Jordan in the last few years.
Henry isn't up there or anything in your list, Bob?
I don't know much about Jordan's off the court attitude, so I can't say I agree. I've heard of the problems with Pippen over the years too, but again, don't know much about it. To be honest, those sort of things always happen in team sports especially.
I didn't list any footballers, because otherwise my list would be too long. I'll probably add a few later but yes, Thierry Henry would be up there. Though in the later stages of his career at Arsenal, his arrogance knew no bounds and I didn't like that.
