Oh s*** so it really was her then Can't wait to read what proves she's guilty. Btw those faces are plain creepy; I'm kinda glad Obata worked on a seinen manga before and improved in his drawing of expressions: those are expressions you typically don't see in shonen

I just read the second chapter and it was magnificent. That was a perfect argumentation. All clues were there in the first chapter, it was clear that Tento was hiding something since the beginning and he have decided to charge all the guilt, but Inugami ended up discovering what he was doing. Who would have thought that the teacher was the one who did all this, she doesn't demonstrated any suspect action, at least on my eyes... However, everything fits like gears.
I don't know how the story was in the its first edition in Jump Live, the dialogues were incredible indeed, but Obata's art certainly added up to the environment, it makes a simple judgement, something boring most of the time, in a battle shounen with all the tension that it had right. The expressions, principally from the teacher, reminded me Neuro, those expressions for despair when the criminal is being destroyed by the arguments. Incredible, it was a very good start to the series and the end of the chapter again put the readers in check with future events. What was the mistake that Inugami mentioned?
While I liked the chapter and resolution to the case, the one thing that I'm worried about is that the assumed lack of constancy between the characters will doom it, much like with Sporting Salt. Admittedly, both the story and the art are much better here than in Sporting Salt.
I will admit that something like Detective Conan is super popular, so there's also a different audience for mystery or court series.

Where did you read the second chapter - I so want to read it but my source isn't available right now
I finally read ch.2 in Japanese and I must say I liked this chapter. I felt the case got resolved a bit fast though (had expected it to last until ch.3) and I had thought Inugami and Pine would actually change schools after the case was resolved. But well, I'll guess I'll just see how the story proceeds from here and I'm looking forward to know more about Inugami's past.
