Oh s*** so it really was her then Can't wait to read what proves she's guilty. Btw those faces are plain creepy; I'm kinda glad Obata worked on a seinen manga before and improved in his drawing of expressions: those are expressions you typically don't see in shonen

I just read the second chapter and it was magnificent. That was a perfect argumentation. All clues were there in the first chapter, it was clear that Tento was hiding something since the beginning and he have decided to charge all the guilt, but Inugami ended up discovering what he was doing. Who would have thought that the teacher was the one who did all this, she doesn't demonstrated any suspect action, at least on my eyes... However, everything fits like gears.
I don't know how the story was in the its first edition in Jump Live, the dialogues were incredible indeed, but Obata's art certainly added up to the environment, it makes a simple judgement, something boring most of the time, in a battle shounen with all the tension that it had right. The expressions, principally from the teacher, reminded me Neuro, those expressions for despair when the criminal is being destroyed by the arguments. Incredible, it was a very good start to the series and the end of the chapter again put the readers in check with future events. What was the mistake that Inugami mentioned?

While I liked the chapter and resolution to the case, the one thing that I'm worried about is that the assumed lack of constancy between the characters will doom it, much like with Sporting Salt. Admittedly, both the story and the art are much better here than in Sporting Salt.

Develop your arguments about the bold part. I didn't undertand.

He's not going to stay at this school. He's going to go to another school and try to win another case, right? Unless there are longer arcs where we grow more attached to characters at a school, or the genius defense attorney gains friends that travel with him, we'll constantly be seeing new characters, something which can be the death knell of a manga of this type.

We don't know yet. By what I was told in the last page, they are going to stay in the that school for some time yet. I don't really see a problem with the change of school, if it happens, if it is well made. There are many possibilities, it can have other friend attorneys out there and rivals. The focus of the series can be this interaction between characters outised of schools, instead of inside only one school.

I don't know that it'll have too much movement and it'll lose focus and interest. I was just mentioning that a similar movement-type manga just happened and got cancelled, so it's something to think about for this.

I will admit that something like Detective Conan is super popular, so there's also a different audience for mystery or court series.

By what I know, Sporting Salt was considered shit since the first chapter so it was not a good example. I think that the way the manga is handled is what decides whether will be interesting or boring. In this kind of manga, the creativity of the cases is what matters more. So far it was very good.

I read in Portuguese. Our extreme respect for Obata is making them translate very fast.

I finally read ch.2 in Japanese and I must say I liked this chapter. I felt the case got resolved a bit fast though (had expected it to last until ch.3) and I had thought Inugami and Pine would actually change schools after the case was resolved. But well, I'll guess I'll just see how the story proceeds from here and I'm looking forward to know more about Inugami's past.

Yeah, I've been reading it in Portuguese as well. I don't read Portuguese, but I read Spanish, so it's generally close enough. At least, it's enough to get the gist of it, even if I miss a word here or there.
