i don't think it was really fear mephisto was feeling. i'm pretty sure at first he was surprised because he didn't expect anybody to grab him by the collar (i'm pretty sure that's never happened before to him). and that look he gave rin was a look a anger/challenge. or possibly even amusement. somehow i don't think mephisto would be scared of rin
toudou did a good job tricking mamushi. why not renzo too??? and was it only renzo or were there others from the shima family? (which i highly doubt but you never really know right)
I was somewhat surprised by Shima's stance, undoubtedly we've yet to see the end of it. Lucifer's sudden appearance was, if possible, even more jarring. It lloks as though after a bit of a break in terms of action, we can expect this upcoming arc to be quite entertaining.

ummmm...i have no idea whats going on in the chapter based off of the raws....
There's a translation in this thread (though it's split into parts, and I'm too lazy to link them): http://www.theblueknight.host-ed.me/...ic,252.90.html
Thanks go to ArchaicFlash, chaotickairos and Kaibutsu.
Right, based on his actions in Chpater 50, it seems like Shima's trying hard not to be himself, which leads me to predict that he's a double agent.
this was definitely more of a transition chapter. how is kamiki's mom still alive? is she being kept alive that way if lucifer's host body dies he can just go back into kamiki's mom until they find another one? or is there another demon who keeps on possessing kamiki's mom?
or she's just really maimed and disfigured. but i wouldn't doubt azazel's help in all this. it seems as though lucifer has a pretty big group of followers and it wouldn't surprise me if he was making allies with the other kings as well. it looks like mephisto only has amaimon allianced with him, and who even knows if that alliance is forced or not? okay so i was just thinking about it now (two months after the chapter was released lol ) and it really makes sense that Samael (mephisto), the king of time and space, to not have the strength to defeat Lucifer, the king of light. According to the theory of relativity (or something like that. its physics) as an object approaches the speed of light time begins to slow down for the object. once that object reaches the speed of light, time no longer exists. (really i'm not 100% on this so if you actually know, feel free to correct me at any time). if thats the case mephisto's control of time would have no effect on the king of light...does this make sense? i'm quickly typing this up before i go to class and before i forget my train of thought!
oh and doesn't this page look as though mephisto is protecting rin and company?http://www.mangahere.com/manga/ao_no...8/c049/13.html his cape is shielding them from the light of the seraphim.

"Secret project" is a character book; I am disappoint. Though I am curious as to how much an exorcist makes for a living.
here are the raws: http://www.mangahead.com/index.php/M...&size=original
