Allow me to bump an old thread.
I saw the trailer to the works you guys are going to act/direct in! Whee, whee, my friend is a director, muahahahaha~ How do you like the script you're directing?
The script is okay, but the process of realizing it into a play is such a hassle, not to mention we don't have much time to prepare but the lecturers set a high standard. (That's why I keep mentioning everywhere that my lecturers are exploiting us!)
Tbh, it's not going well. I compromise a lot because even though I want the play to be like this or that, there isn't enough people or time to make it like what I want. It's disappointing, really. They're keep asking me how do I want this or that, but every time I want something, they quickly shot it down by saying it can't be. When I do not say anything, they say I should've been more decisive. Hah.
And currently, due to the stress it caused, my friends are all high-strung. I really have to be careful when talking to them. I've been blamed for things that I can't really help. I have lots of things in my mind so I forget one or two things, but they blame me as if I should've been able to remember everything. Sometimes I really want to shout at them that I'm human and I'm prone to mistakes. I'm not perfect, for God's sake! I do understand that they are having it harder than I am (those who are in the artistic division can't even rest) but I really wish they are more patient.
Let's just hope my patience won't run out or I will cause lots of heartbreaks at the end of this semester.
I'm not sure if I want to be a director, but at least if I work in this industry, I'll make sure to respect my director because I know how damn hard it is.
And I still have many stories and essays to write in two weeks! The lecturers are giving us projects as if we have all the time in the world and we have no other assignments. I really want to graduate soon so I can escape this place!
It sure is though. And this is still third year, no? When will you graduate? Well, I guess the process of creating films is not as easy and happy as what people generally think (or from what we see in behind the scenes, lol). Everyone easily gets irritated and stressed, much understandable. I hope the show will be satisfying.
And if you can write feedback on an anonymous letter to your faculty and teachers, go ahead.
Well yeah, a production this small already causes so much trouble, I can't imagine a massive-scale production like Lord of the Rings. But of course, in behind-the-scenes, they only show the good things.
I hope so too, though now I just leave it to God. One of my actor is still having difficulty in remembering the dialogues though the performance is near so... *throw my hands in the air* What will be, will be.
If only I can do that.
Found it - it was really buried that I missed and had to use 'other means' to find it.
So Yuki chan - tell us how your X mas went and what you got and what you gave out.
Who's the lucky person?
is it the actors or the type (short bearded guys with long hair)?
Indeed, Richard Armitage really brings him to life. I can only remember Gloin because he's similar to Gimli, but I still have difficulty to remember all the dwarves.
