Mizaistom The Ox
Pariston The Rat
I love how Ging turned out to be the boar. I mean, the rat and the boar are the least liked of all animals because of their negative connotations. And, a boar is a kind of pig, a pig is the personification of greed, and what had Ging made? GREED ISLAND. I love it.
Excellent chapter. No way did I predict that Ging would be amongst the zodiac. Brilliant move in the end to make vote participation go up, as everyone who casts a vote has a chance of becoming the chairman. I'm expecting the participation rate to sky rocket now...
Oh as for those who didn't know, in Chinese mythology, "The Jade Emperor" held a race to determine which animal should get what spot in the Chinese zodiac. The rat came first before every other animal and thus got the first place in each cycle. By teaming up with the ox and riding on it's back when it swam across the last river, it jumped off right before ox reached the shore and thus claiming the first place.
Needless to say, this "Rat" is every part as devious as the mythological "Rat". I would expect no fair play from him.
While the first rule for the vote seems to be leading to great chaos. I m very interested in finding out next week which extra rule Ging come up with. Like percentage necessary for the vote to be valid maybe it abandoned the 95%. maybe he ll have two rounds, when will the vote takes place...etc
Because so far we have only heard the first rule he set up Rule #1
free for all battles for the Leader position!
now i see this going the yuyu akusho way
Since Togashi is following each zodiac sign's personality, let's discuss who's who in there.
Other than that, the order in wich they appear also shows their ambition. Boar is the least greedy, and most unatached of all. I'm sure Gin will try to sabotage the whole voting and not really be the president, but find a honest way to get one.
It's also important to note the element of each sign. It shows how they work as well.
Let's take metal relationships: Monkey (strong metal), Rooster (metal) and Dog (weak metal).
Metal is the element that never gives in. It can be bent, but it will destroy what's bending him first rather than actually being broken. Rooster is metal because it's a sign that never retreats and keeps its position until the end. It is true and contained in his actions. Monkey is like that but its strength is such that it distorts itself to get the world to be like it wants. Monkeys lie and manipulate people in order to get things done, but in the end they are just stubborn trying to get things their way. And Dogs are the weakest metal, as they are stubborn, but they can be manipulated and twisted more than they do it to others. They are metal as they remain firm with their ideals till the end, but their actions might get corrupted through manipulators or harassers.
Okay these informations about the Zodiac Signs are well-known, but it's funny how Togashi made their personalities exactly like that, lol. They mentioned how most of Netero's sparring partners adored the codenames given by Netero.
They even changed their names and maybe their clothing to match their codenames.
But there are "exceptions" and Gin (suprise, suprise) is one of them.
First for the "Boar"-supporting points:
-He stays calm all the time.
-He's a Guy who lives in the wilds most of the time ; taming gigantic beasts.
-He lacks ambition? Well, he's always "shirking on his responsibilities" according to "Monkey". -He left Gon, so that's a good point, too.
That's what Boar is according to the Information you posted and they are all matching with Gin's personality so far. But it seems like he hasn't fully agreed on that codename/part. It's most-likely because his personality isn't just the one of the "Boar", while the others seemingly dedicated their lifes and lifestyles to this codename (excluding the other exception).
I hope he won't just dissappear after the election, because I doubt that he wants to be the Chairmen. He candidated just because he doesn't want any of the Zodiac to be the "Boss". It would be pretty strange if he will become the chairman, because then Gon only need to make an appointment to see his father, lol.
guys look at this informations about the personalties of chinese zoidac
you will find that it is sameral to the 12 candidats
I thought the Jyuuni-shin looked better looking from the back! The Dragon and tiger who won last poll are not that cool! I still like the Ox though, and the Boar (obviously) and tha Sheep looked interesting...
Interesting thing is that the rat is the antogonist and the history of how the rat earned his spot in the chinese zodiac is because of trickery... The twelve animals and their order was chosen because of a race:
The rat managed to get to that position because he tricked the cat and used the Ox....
About Ging and Gon... got this crazy idea while seeing Ging's face while saying that Gon cant die... so sure of his son, so sure of himself too.. and the fact that Gon has no mother, and lets say that he is not your usual Kid... what if Gon was a part of Ging somehow? why is he wanting Gon to improve, surpass himself? is gon going to become a new Ging somehow? is Gon only chasing himself? O_o
I disagree. The tiger is as cool as ever.
My ranking of the zodiac from favorite to least
1. Kanzai the Tiger
2. Pariston the Rat
3. Ging the Boar
4. Mizaistom the Ox
5. Clook the Chicken
6. Piyon the Rabbit
7. Ginta the Sheep
8. Gehl the Snake
9. Botobai the Dragon
10. Chidol the Dog
11. Sacchou the Horse
12. Saiyuu the Monkey
Netero no doubt had a plan for each and every one of the jyuuni-shin, including Pariston. Poor sod thinks he's in control, while all he's doing is playing right according to Netero's intentions.
Anyone else thinks he's going to snap before the end of this arc?
The bottom panel is so simple, yet so epic.
Really nice to see that those guys from Jyuuni Shin match their respective personality from Zodiac we can almost come up with what is going to happen from now on.
I wonder how strong each of them really are, Gin is said to be one of the most powerful Nen-Users in the world. Even though Pariston said that he understands the feelings of the weak it's not like he's weak himself. And finally we have the Tiger and the Dragon which are often opposing forces and really powerful guys.
