Blue Exorcist/Ao no Exorcist Anime Film Green-Lit
Ao No Exorcist... movie?
(Seriously? After the hatred that the anime has invoked, they are making a movie? This will be worse than the Rurouni Kenshin movie, and that was painful.)

My response: apathy.
Reason: You can't get hurt if your expectations are low.
They can't do worse than the anime, can they ? So perhaps with this film they will put things aright ? To put the story back on the tracks of the manga ? (I doubt it, but who knows ?)
The movie promo and staff has been posted.
hopefully they do some real quick blast through the story that sticks close to the manga.
The new poster has Amaimo-hamster sitting on top of Mephisto's head. This suggests that the movie follows the anime, not the manga. What a pity.
I stick with my first post in this thread regarding my surprise and alarm then. fffFFFF-
Wait now - Yukio doesn't have the demon-ness he got in the anime. That makes me somewhat hopeful.
At least this new poster has Kazue's signature style. Now that I am done drooling and fangirling over the style (and FUJIMOTO <3!~)... I wonder if Kazue took another story of hers an applied it for the movie? Or maybe she just had fun drawing everyone with bunny ears.
And DAMN if the backgrounds people didn't go all out on this. I have to admit, one of the few things that maintained my fragile sanity during the anime release were the magnificent backgrounds.
Can't wait to see the trailer so I can evaluate if the movie will be a bust...
i remain hopefull that nothing can be worse than that train wreck the anime team came up with. honestly the only reason why finished watching the anime was because i wanted to let people know that what happened in the anime had nothing to do with the manga and that the manga is way better. after awhile of watching the episodes i just had to laugh at how bad the script was but hey what are you going to do. A-1 did an amazing job animating the manga, but that's all i can give them credit for. sorry A-1! until i see a trailer though i can't really pass my judgement on it. any clue as to when the movie's coming out?
It comes out on December 28th 2012
First teaser trailer was released today
I'm actually a bit excited for the movie now dunno if it will be any good but for now I will keep my hopes up
I wish I knew what they were saying in the trailer. But at anyrate, Yukio dosn't appear to be rockin the elf ears and from what I can tell has 1.) completely nothing to do with the manga and 2.) has alot of trains or something involved.
I'll pray that its at least a non conical shounen movie, we don't need the shamballa treatment after that trainwreck of an ending. A milos would work just fine.
(Funny how alot of us seem to use FMA as a code for anime adaptations XD)
if it's of any interest, I found translations of synopsis on the Introduction page and someone's attempt to translate the trailer on tumblr.
the synopsis:True Cross Academy is bustling with excitement as it prepares for a festival that comes only once every 11 years. The exorcists are busy replacing old barriers to keep demons out.the trailer:
Meanwhile, Rin Okumura has been assigned to the exorcism of a "Phantom Train," where he meets a young demon who looks like a little boy.Mephisto: Humans are beings who live in the past(?)so apparently it's going to draw some stuff from the Phantom Train bonus chapter, but add in a lot of original stuff as well.
Therefore they are lovely in their foolishness.

Rin: I will walk down the path I believe in!
(text) - A forgotten memory
Yukio: Nii-sama did you forget what was sacrificed?!
Rin: There’s no way I could forget!
(text)- The torn seal
Mephisto: I’ll kill you whenever you wish
(text) - The hidden past.
Rin: I definitely won’t forget
(text) - Pandora’s box is opened
Rin(?): Please don’t disappear
So confusing, because the movie contains Hamaimon but not blehYukio. Looks like this movie takes place animeverse after the events of the Grigori trial.
Which means we might get some stupid shit, but not as concentrated.
I have no faith in the script, given Yukio's typical generic line of "nii-san, did you do something effing stupid?!"
Though there's an upside to everything. I look forward to Johnny Yong Bosch voicing Yukio and Kirk Thornton voicing Shiro, even if it will probably turn out badly
