Zeff referred to the Grand line as a "paradise" before sanji was even part of the crew, long before they got there, everyone after him started calling it a terribly dangerous place, but zeff had probably been to the new world, and so called it that, since people from the new world call the GL paradise. Hundreds of chapters later, we hear the explanation for why he said that.
Took me quite a while to find it, but that's a name that is given to the first half of the GL by anyone who sets foot in the NW just because they can't believe how much harder the second half is.
Luffy may have just said that because he was eager to get there, or it could be he heard it from shanks, but zeff called it that, and immediately after Don Kreig came screaming about how horrible the first half of the GL is, calling it hell and saying how his armada was immediately decimated by one person there, and he seemed to assume everyone there was like that.

Now looking at the NW so far, there have been different enemies that Luffy has encountered that would be difficult for many to fight, but not so much stronger than all. SO far, we are just seeing how actions in the NW are truly global in impact.
Recurring concept: Luffy falling from the sky to get onto a new island
Luffy is stuck in a giant bird's mouth which got shot down by Buggy's cannon and lands in Orange Town
Luffy is stuck on a marine battleship with Buggy on frozen tidal wave and lands in Marineford's bay
Saw this on tumblr. Don't know how credible this is.
Maybe there is something behind those ideas, maybe it's all a coincidence.
- Black Leg Sanji with his fire feet back at Drum.
- Luffy climbing a 5km mountain, half of what Tiger Fisher had to get to Mary Joa[even if that part was revealed as a lie later on, him being a slave to begin with etc.].
- Sound/sonic waves are used for destruction. Seen again with Scratchmen Apoo's DF ability and now during the tournament by the Chinjao Family.

Nah, it's true, so thanks for the reminder.
Guys, Lola being Big Mom daughter could be a huge foreshadow?
actual i think
is lolas mom, she even has a similar name + if she is lolas mum, she also has then a reason to undo the changes for chopper and co.
True, but he seems to have lost his nickname years or rather decades ago, while/after fighting Garp. If he lost it there, how would he tunnel out of there and not still have that moniker? Maybe it was really him, but tunneling and drilling are not one and the same in my view. I could have gotten it all wrong too. :/ Would be a nice foreshadowing there/allusion here.
He could have made a different name for himself, or those that knew his old moniker aren't with him anymore. I'm not saying that it's him, just that it's still possible Chinjao was the one who dug the tunnels. Though at first, I thought it could have been the mole lady... though I dunno if Impel Down prisoners are ever released.
