Well, after reading through a lot of the recent posts I can imagine one scenario where Hody & co would be able to obtain the pills, conneciton Big Mom and quite possibly the "box".
Hody & co must've found out about the pills one way or another. Yes, it's possible that one of them could've worked in the factory previously. Hody was serving as a soldier, some of the others could've had similar roles around FI including working in the factory. I have this feeling that Daruma & Zeo played a key role in obtaining them from the factory. Daruma is very efficient at digging holes, etc and Zeo can turn "invisible" and camauflage himself very well. If the latter member did work in the factory before then it would've made it easier for him to locate the "original" pills. Thus, both of these New Fishmen Pirates could've worked together very well in order to execute the plan to obtain these pills.
But yeah, the candy factory has some connection to the pills imo. Maybe, I'm completely wrong but I can't accept this stupid idea that the candy factory is just a candy factory. xDD!
Now...these mass produced version of the pills are highly likely to have created the side effect we have now witnessed over the course of this arc. Making the consumer older rather than younger or vice versa.

Damn long post
I really was a supporter of the candy factory=pill produce machinery until some chapters ago but at the moment i really belive that everyone still thinkin like that walks the wrong path!
The Pills that Hodi obtained definately have a connection to the box VDD mentioned. Hodi was a soldier in Neptunes army and it seems most logical to me that he obtained those pills during his work in the castle!
I think those pills are a relict from the ancient times! A technology used by fishmen in order to obtain superiority and a reason for the War between Humans and Fishman.
I truly belive (although i have nothing in my hand to back it up) that those pills will work for Fishman only. I sure hope its like that as we might see those pills again in the NW otherwise which would really suck!
The candy factory will play a role when it gets known to the world that Luffy destroyed FI! Big Mom won´t appear on FI but she (or at least some of her underlinings) will not tolerate Luffys behaviour. After all she put her flag on that island making it her territory...
I somehow dont buy Linln being behind the drugs for Hody theory. She is one of the Yonkou, I dont think she would need to settle for such plot and antics to achieve something.... If anyone, it could be the world government. Afterall, they would benefit the most from fishmen island being isolated or destroyed, since it is the only path for pirates into the new world.
Besides that, I think Linlin's appearance would be related to hte impact of Luffy on her turf. It is more like a statement of alert for a pirate at her level.
- It could be the government(some CP9-ish?) who actually started the Human hate to fishmen, simply because they wanted the pills for themselves. This could easily be connected to The Lost Century, maybe because they were the source (or users) of the pills.
- Also, maybe the reason Wata-something has all the air inside of him, is so he can blow air into bubbles, so that the Straw Hats and the other human pirates can eacape in case Noah destroys the bubble before Luffy can stop it?
fact that fits the theory: the only thing that could destroy the island is Noah, but the boat would be destroyed too and it seems important for fishmen so someone will manage to save it (that's happy ending for you)
I don't see Luffy destroying an island barehanded but maybe I'm wrong...
the thing is, to reset fishmen island (erase their hatred (?)) maybe luffy will destroy it to force them to go on the surface, like "You want your new way of life, there it is, become happy homeless fishmen" (kind of like when he destroys Nami's office in Arlong Park, destroy the place that became a burden)
but that's maybe overanalysing the thing
