I'm not exactly sure if this is what you're talking about, but the closest thing I've tried was at a local Ethiopian restaurant. They have a house-made honey wine which is flavored with hops. Kind of sweet, kind of not, and with just a hint of carbonation. It had a very unique flavor compared to any other wine I'd tried before, but I liked it. It was really interesting.
You're saying it was like Mead, but carbonated?
Not a lot of carbonation, but it was definitely there. Went well with the spicy food, too.

Apparently, it's called tej
I was reading a magazine called Details at the dentist office the other day. Now that I remembered the name of the magazine, I googled and found their site. There is an article called "The World's Best Beers" on their current homepage, but it was not what I read. The article I briefly remembered was: Four Beer Trends to Try Now Everything you need to know about Japanese craft beer, barrel-aged beer, wine-beer hybrids, and gypsy-brewed beer. Read on if you would like to explore new beers. Let me know if you have already tried any.

Had Samuel Adams today. it was so-so.
Had a German beer with long name that I forgot few days ago (Gary should remember). It was good.
Ohhh, I haven't seen any of those hybrids before. Really interesting. I want to try one just to see what it's like.
Of those beer trends, I've actually tried a Japanese craft beer from one of the same brands in that article, which I believe I've already posted about in this thread: Hitachino Nest White Ale. It's really yummy. I'll have to try the red rice ale next.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. I'm the one who actually picked it out for you, if you remember.
Suuuure you did. I do not remember that. I may have missed it, but all I remember is you telling him to get Stella and I suggested that this would be a better choice for him.
Go drink it!
He would have liked either, but I did notice that the place had it. I just thought he'd like a lager more.
Nah, too tired...not really in the mood for it or Kwak.
Don't remember who did who, just that one of you recommended that beer.
Lager? like Samuel Adams?
Sam Adams makes dozens of different beers, but yes they make Lagers.
Oh. I probably don't like lager, then. I didn't like that Sams Adams I had at the restaurant.
