I nominate Miura Kentarou for this category....his manga Berserk is epic and his breaks legendary
Well, I can't help to nominate Eichiro Oda
Planetes was incredible piece. Something that isn't common between Japanese authors. It was realistic look at future. Still the main point of Planetes wasn't development of technology but the fact that people and their problems will remain same as they're now. That each person eventually has to reconcile with world, that everyone of us have to learn how to live.
Then he wrote Sayonara ga Chikai no de. Story about final days of Okita Souji but unlike other authors he didn't portray Okita as some young guy who bravely fought with his illness. He made him look realistic.
And his current Vinland Saga... I could write an essay about Vinland Saga and that wouldn't be enough. Vinland Saga is my favourite story, my favourite work, my most favourite piece of literature, piece of art. I have always loved historical stories especially that which were set in Middle Ages AND especially Viking Age AND to be utterly exact... I love the period of Vikings attack under the lead of King Sweyn on England and succeeding rule of King Knut the Great. Yukimura Makoto, thank you.
i support Togashi Yoshihiro
Since Takehiko is already nominated I nominate Hideaki Sorachi for best mangaka.
The man is a genius making great parodies of japanese society and it's pop culture.
I support Naoki Urasawa nominated by zelllogan. As he said, despite my love for one piece, best mangaka shall at least have one completed manga to belong to this category. And all Urasawa works are masterpieces
尾田 栄一郎 Oda Eiichirō
(God bless copy pasting)
Consistent, smart to do cliffhangers, smart to leave hints and smart to lead the story. One Piece may be his only good piece (As a best mangaka we can't consider just one work, but oh well) but it was enough to prove him as an excellent author.
I nominate Abe Miyuki for Best Mangaka. I definately enjoy bishounens a lot and she can draw them really great. Plus, i loved the level of details of the enviroment (city, forest, etc) that she used in Super Lovers and Hakkenden. And it gets nice when she breaks the nice art-lines with the gag lines on funny situations.
I support Yoshihiro Togashi for Best Mangaka.
With his peppy drawing and his marvelous writing, he shines a dazzling light among shonen manga with Hunter X Hunter, as much as Oda does with One Piece imho.
I worship his Level E.
I nominate Matsunaga Toyokazu, he should be in the running as the best probably unknown mangaka I have ever heard of and since I hope Miura would be nominated and Oda has enough support already.
I nominate Tite Kubo for Best Mangaka. Even though this year hasn't been good for Kubo his artwork never disappoints.
I nominate 尾田 栄一郎 Oda Eiichiro!
I support 尾田 栄一郎 Oda Eiichirō .
i nominate Isayama Hajime for Best Mangaka (Shingeki no Kyojin)
