Forum News: Vote in the final phase of the Anime Awards 2014
There were a lot of arguments going on about rankings, who was better, who's got more potential, things like that.
So in a more lighthearted manner, I thought I'd ask who everyone would pick as their favourite characters?
There's no limit to the number you can pick, you don't have to give an order, it's just a chance to admire how genuinely awesome some of the characters are.
I'll start - my favourite is Kikamura, but below him I'd have to say Niou, Fuji and Atobe.
I wish Kikamura was paired up with someone more interesting than Oichi
My top 10 in order
I wish characters like Fuji, Sengoku, Tachibana, and Jirou would get more screen time, but I'm happy to see more Kintarou and Sanada
The whole room 201.
my favorite players:
1. Fuji --> he's a nice kid. less screen time in NPOT but i'm OK. (NPOT anime looks ugly compared to National & Original Anime)
2. Marui - i like his genius volley
3. Chitose --> his hair helped him in my rank.
5. Yuuta - i think he's a late bloomer. maybe he'll get better in tennis at 3rd Year
7. Yuushi - thanks to his seiyu
10. Other Seigaku players.
Hahahah. sorry it's Akazawa from St. Rudolph.
a forgotten bro but i still like him.
I personally think his tennis skills should be around Rikkai level (during Prefecture) but because of screen time limitation, we never see him playing single.
If Yuuta play for Seigaku in 3rd year, i wonder how would it be to be along Kaidoh & Momoshiro.
It should be a great story.
Lmao, no, there's no way he's around Rikkai level (they were said to be as strong as Tezuka ffs ). But around Sengoku / Davide (and other forgotten bros, like Saeki), yeah, probably. It's not like being the best in St. Rudolph means a lot... but he was still the best
I believe that Konomi, somehow (at least in just some random pictures), will tell us what happens with everyone a year after PoT.
yeah. all rikkai is at Tezuka level. maybe i've overrated akazawa. but he's still worth to be at #6 in my list.
ahhh. davide... i forgot about him. his hair is very nice. he's the unique
well i can't understand why other POT characters dont get his jokes. i think the jokes are funny.
Merged both of the favourite threads and changed it to top 10 characters instead of players.
Favorite Characters at the moment.
1. Fuji-Yukimura-Atobe (A triple tie)
Because listing the middle schoolers we all know and love is boring, I'm going to list my favorite high schoolers.
In no particular order (because how much I like them tends to fluctuate from chapter to chapter):
OniAlso, characters who are DEAD TO ME:I could be here all day if I had to list why I like Oni, but I have crazy mad respect for the sort of person who is willing to forgo glory for themselves in order to strengthen others.TanegashimaKinda a jerk, but he is the only man Oni hasn't defeated so he has piqued my interest.IrieTricksy Irie. I wish he could play doubles with Niou because that would be a sight to see.WatanabeI wanted to see more of his game with Ishida. Power players don't get any love unless they are pretty-boys.OchiA nice guy who is bad at smiling and possibly a little lonely because of it? Adorbz.TokugawaHe needs more of a personality, but I'm keen to see how the stuff with Byoudouin plays out.HaratetsuI have to admit than at least 50% of the reasons I like him is due to the OVA. But I also, as a rule, love anyone who has attended Shitenhouji.OhmagariGotta respect a guy who is dead serious about library books staying in order.YamatoI hope he stays in the camp and attends that "leadership program" mentioned in the fanbook.MitsuyaI want to see more with him and Yanagi/Inui. Data boys FTW.
KiteAnd possibly some others I can't seem to remember at the moment. I have no respect for players who have to resort to injuring their opponents to win. No respect.

I'm also giving Marui a pass because he was doing it, not for the sake of winning but for his beloved Yukimura-buchou. Also, he was just giving Tohno his just deserts.
The weird thing is that Byoudouin, at least in recent chapters, seems like he might be a decent guy. A bit of a cocky jerk, but in this manga I'm used to that sort of thing. But then he aimed that killer shot a Ryoma (who he barely knows) and struck Tokugawa instead (and got him hard enough for Kurobe to make a worried note of it). I'm not sure what his deal is, but I don't like it.
And you'll have to remind me, what did Niou and Yagyuu do to injure an opponent? I need to reread the original series because I have forgotten so much.
Devil-mode Kirihara definitely belongs on that list, though. I had forgotten how much his match against Fuji upset me and have been somewhat blinded by all of the stuff that has come out since then showing him to be quite adorkable off court.
