Ok, Togashi must have had lessons with Kubo Tite. That's seriously a troll, I honestly didn't expect it but hey, we were given the reason to not expect that. Shame on you, Togashi! Why put so many wise characters to feel an ominous aura on Pariston and then suddenly announce that he isn't a threat at all. This has just gone the worst way, imo.
Seriously, unless something neat happens after that, my rating on HxH will fall abruptly. Not only the hype on Pariston was just a troll, the whole deal about Gin expecting Gon to find him was thrown out the window as well. That was the most anticlimatic chapter ever. It almost feels as if Togashi is angry at his readers and decided to dump his own manga.
Togashi said that he had 3 to 4 arcs in mind, but to tell you the truth this whole ordeal was probably a Developement arc. He probably wanted to present SOME characters in an exciting way. This whole arc obviously wasn't a trolling arc except for the Election part. We just have to wait and see if he could justify what he did. Togashi may present a broader picture later on. He does leave hints in his writing to where the story is headed. Everything will pan out. *praying* lol

Also Pariston isn't really that predictable, so we don't know what he's hiding behind the scenes. Maybe setting him up as a troll in the election may lead to greater things. He has to be hiding something!
yeah i Gin, i predicted all this to happen.
To say "Pariston is unpredictable" gives one enough room to make him do whatever just for the plot to move on, it's a cheap move, so to say. I don't mind it happening during the Hunter Exam, since that part was supposed to be about tricks the Hunters would have very few chances of figuring out. But Pariston running the elections just for fun, giving away an ominous intention, that better have a fitting explanation!
I could go with "Gon's answer spoiled his plans" or something wild as that, since imo, makes a lot more sense for Pariston to lie now than all the Zodiacs + Netero be wrong about his character and desire for power. An explanation such as "Gon took away his victim role, as well as his merit, when he made Pariston win". It would make his administration unable to bend any rule, and would be acceptable as an excuse for him to give up the chair.
IF he's lieing, I'll go along with it. But gotta wait for the pics to check that out.
What a great move Pariston made. What you would expect from a triple star hunter. It would be boring if Togashi made him the real chairman.
Now let's see how the interaction plays out between Pariston- Gin - Killua's Family - Hisoka - Spiders - Gon's Main Team - Hunter association + Ant's cacoon.
Definitely look forward to it
Yeah even though the spoiler may seem plausible, we honestly have to wait until the chapter is out to make a better judgement. =

The thing about Pariston being "unpredictable" can go many ways. Maybe he intended to tirck the Zodiacs+Netero, maybe he didn't. This whole election of Pariston proved that he is capable of such things. I may be justifying Pariston's actions, but theres always a good side or a bad side to how people view things. lol

It seems to me Pariston is making some unspeakably evil plans just because that is against everything the Hunter stands for. He actually has no interest in executing any unspeakably evil plan, so he has no interest in actually following through with whatever evil he planned now that he's won because that'd be too easy as the chairman. It's almost like he chooses to be 'evil' because that's the only way he'd get a challenge in a world where in theory all the most powerful guys are aligned with good (Hunter's Association is clearly the pinnacle of individual power in the world of HXH).
And I think he genuinely does care about the sake of the Hunter's Association, since he asked Chidol to fix the exam rules. After all, you can't manipulate dead people.
The raw scan doesn't look to bad, can't wait to read it! Sucks i can't read japanese. =[
pariston what a genius!
what's then Killua meet Illumi?
A pretty good chapter. The spoilers were pretty much true on all accounts. I gotta love how the audience hassles Ging for being a bad father. 'Dude, Gon even cleared GI to find you. The least you could do is wait for him.' 'Ging, I'm off!' 'Yeah.' 'Not yeah you bastard! Say something like 'Take care' lol. Though Togashi's art is getting sketchy again...I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means...
The side text at the end says 'And now another resolution...' or something along those lines. Guess the Killu-Illu-Allu thing will be settled next chapter?
So Kite/Kaito really did turn into a girl
Well...pariston was not bad as i tought so ....
he is one of those as Netero...Hisoka...and probably also Ging..
who hold SO MUCH power.. .and get EVERETHING THEY WANT SO EASILY..
they life..turn a truly nightmare...with no goals to achieve.. or Enemies to Fight....
like on Hisoka...Case..
so they are only truly happy .when they face each others...being on a fight..
with some..worthy rival.. or in politics... or elections..
at first sight it doesnt look like a big thing... that last page... of illumi
wandering around, the place.. but i have the feeling
the next chapter IS DECISIVE BATTLE between Killua and Illumi..
he is so desperate to get IT ..it seem he get tired of AMBUSHS. BULLSHITS..
illumi FITS perfectly for this Job he is SO GOOD controlling other people..
using needles...without time limit.. like when he left that one on Killua Head
for so much time....
if he Could Gain Complete..Control of Killua like a Puppet..
he could make use FULLY USE of IT and all the weird rules it Carrys...
even those "related to killua only"

Scan is out on mangareader if anyone is interested...
Anyways...Pariston the troll...but he seemed really genuine about his feelings for the chairman...so I guess him resigning means that he doesn't acknowledge anyone as a worthy opponent, and he'll just return to his own games...I would've hoped for a more impacting end for this elections, but in the end if it will mean that some basic rules will change, then I'm okay with it...
The rest of the chapter...well...I wonder if there will be any chance to save Kaito...I wouldn't want that of course, but I can't help to wonder...
The cliffhanger is awesome though...this family conflict was the highlight of the arc, so it deserves a separate ending IMO...well played Togashi-sensei
