I don't think one arc is quite enough for gon to surpass killua in the areas where killua is superior to him. Gon physically developed quite well and nen wise he should be equal to killua but in the aspects where killua is superior (mostly his physical training and techique) killua has a decade worth of training over gon. I would question whether that is something that gon could make a difference for in a single arc.
The difference of Killua and Gon is that Gon relies more on his instincts and Killua relies on his observations, In some cases both of them could turn out to be stronger than one another. But with that even said i think Gon still has some training to go to be physically stronger, but i think the mental game, they're both equal.
I don't think it is that simple... Gon has certainly been compared to a beast a number of times however in straight combat I would still lean towards killua most of the times at the very least. Before nen had a part in the manga killua was without so much of a shred of a doubt strong enough to give gon the fodder treatment. He was simply faster and strong and his fighting technique was plainly better. Even during the quimera arc the ants noticed that killua was a different sort of fighter from gon, his movements were specifically called flawless and he was merely walking (he was better at damned walking lol).
They do have their own weaknesses and strengths that I think balance quite well, that's why they would make such an awesome team, and that if they play alone, it would turn out quite differently. In the greed island arc it was shown how Biscuit observed these differences but that they make such a great partnership because of the way they complement each other. There are things Killua could never think of doing because he's too defensive, or calculating, where as Gon is the greater risk-taker, and very impulsive, with great luck too.
That is why it is interesting to see them apart, because even as partners for the whole 300 chapters, they have always been very competitive and honing their own skills and keeping to their individuality. They are both aware of their differences, and very in touch with their own personalities. If they had kept their partnership in mind, they would have tried to develop nen that would work great as a tag team- but they developed nen that are very strategically different.
If we put a Gon vs Killua, I'm not quite ready to say atm. I'm really more interested in their individual growths.
Could this outside world be a ploy to somehow power up gon?
people are going literally crazy about the supposed imminent ending on japanese boards... the number of fake spoilers is astonishing!!! They seem to put a lot of effort into them... must stop reading... must ... sleep...aaaarghlglgl
EDIT : hahaha XD

Am I the only one who thinks that Pariston will use the Hybrid ants, in order to "conquer" the outside?
