Predictions for the next chapter: Ehh...who knows. I'd rather see Madara slander the kages, or Itachi destroy Kabuto. Though, i fully expect another flashback in the next issue.Back with another review
Naruto: Chapter 583
Credit goes to all the respective scanlations groups.
To summarize the chapter quickly:
We see how Kabuto gets dragged into the spy wars between warring villages. His adoptive mother turned out to be the "bestest" root spy at that respective time: which is rather annoying...I am supposed to believe that in all of Root, Kabuto's mother is the best spy of them all? But hey, this is your typical sob story, it doesn't need to be well-thought out, so we'll just carry on.
And then we see two more interesting parts of the chapter. The first comes when Danzou tries his charm, aided by his two wing men: Oro, and some random fodder.
The second part is where Kabuto gets enlisted into Oro's creepy recruiting services.
For the past 30 mins, I've been expecting the cheesy porn music, really... Kabuto's mom, or "Chastity",must have been very busy indeed
Well, for one. Much like I said in the last review, Kabuto's back-story is very similar to what we've seen with other characters. There's not much to speak about it, really. Though one can say, it is much better than Nagato and his yapping dog...but there's no need to go into this sad pathetic matter.
Teh Eleete iz spying on ur doodz, and steeeling ur blankies
An interesting part, at least for me, was the espionage and intelligence operations. While they aren't anything new, it is always interesting to see spies in action. Granted that bit about Kabuto's mom being the best at that time was over-exaggerated and reduced the impact of the scene.
Seeing kabuto act like several foreign ninjas and steal their info was pretty nice. I would love to read a small arc about spy wars between Konoha, and say the hidden cloud or the hidden rock. It seems much similar to spy wars in the cold war, or World War II. Imagine, a ninja version of deep-throat[and yes, the pun is intended ].
And of course, we can't have Oro showing up without an over-the top pedophilia that makes pedo-bear jealous. Seriously, we’ve seen that scaly bastard touch Kimi, da Sauce, Zaku and now kabuto. However, I need to note that he did touch Anko and what not, but I am sure Oro was confused and thought she was a boy. Poor anko, she didn't get a lot of panel time
See, that is the look of a very naughty man, people. Damn you Oro for being yourself
Also if you think about it, Root had some nifty members: First Oro, then Itachi [hinted by manga] and Sai. While the 'Mainstream' anbu had only Kakashi. Actually, offtopic, root can be the perfect hipsters of Konoha, they were underground prior to Danzou's death. Too underground for anybody to understand
Now, this brings a few points: What did Hiruzen do during these 'grey' missions done by Danzou? or better yet, apart from disbanding root, what did Hiruzen do to limit Danzou's powers? I mean, Hiruzen did have his shiny ball(read this as you will) that allowed to spy on people.
What else did Danzou mess up? did he do anything to screw up the negotiations prior to the Uchiha massacre?
Ooh, Yes I thought of adding a poll, but I can't think of anything for it..so there's ain't any poll.
And as always, your comments are welcome.
Thank you for reading the Baron's review

ahah, thank you for this review,my friend! to be honest, the previous one was funnier than this, but it's okay nonetheless.
about the content: I'd disagree that danzo's subordinate is a fodder,I hope we will see him again, employed somehow or killed by oro in the past.
ehy and what did you dislike about Nagato's yapping dog ? it was one of the saddest moment out of the story . btw,I really doubt itachi was in the root,he was under hiruzen's control,do you remember volume 25 ?
I know, lol. I didn't find much to say about this chapter, and I had to force some jokes here and there.
And like i said, one can say that it was hinted that Itachi was affiliated with Root. Itachi's mysterious actions, and behavior during the flashbacks ,kinda hint at this.
And the threats/ultimatums that Itachi made to Danzou show that Itachi knew what Danzou was capable of, even though root was known to be fanatically secretive.

no itachi was surely under hiruzen's command, fugaku himself stated that. itachi knew danzo because itachi knew both the elders and danzo,so he was quite an important spy.
Fyi, Root is a division within Anbu:
Quote:All Fukagu knew was that Itachi was part of Anbu, and nothing more.Quote:
Danzou was secretive of his methods and abilities, as shown in quotes.
Itachi gave that threat because he must have known what Danzou is capable of, not just rumors or just hearsay.
As well, note that Hirzuen was against a strike, he was advocating a truce. It was Danzou +the Elders that wanted the remove the Uchiha threat. Going on this, it is highly possible that Danzou ordered the mission/hit.
Like I said, there were some hints at Itachi being a member of Root or at least taking direct orders from Danzou.
actually, danzo founded root as a separate anbu team compared to the ANBU squad itself. look at here http://www.mangareader.net/93-289-19...apter-284.html and in the volume version it's even clearer. btw, there are some odd things in root. tsunade said that root didn't exist anymore, but she knew that sai came from it,and root was still going on...and in volume 46 danzo tells his men that the invasion (of pain) allows them not to be controlled by tsunade,as if she knew root was there,or maybe she just suspected it.
While it was officially disbanded, we saw that Danzou had a few loyal ninjas working under him, as we've seen during the Pain invasion and Sai's interactions with them. Root still operated underground.
Like I said, it was possible that Itachi received orders from Danzou, or was a root member. Itachi knew what Danzou should be capable of, hence his threats.
