I think I might have accidentally ordered the GERMAN versions of HxH 9 and 14!!
As I said before I ordered them from Albris through a UK bookseller.
So quite naturally I thought wouldn't a book from the UK be in English?
And I didn't see anywhere on the page that would hint towards it being NOT English.
This isn't the one I bought but it has the same type of cover
Does anyone see anywhere on that page that says anything about it not being in English?
But it looks like the publishing company
Carlsen Verlag GmbH
might be German?
I thought this was just the UK version! Not the German version! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Speaking of which...
Damn lucky Germans and their cheaper Volumes 9 and 14s!!
The UK version is the same as the US version in that they're both by Viz. I think you might've ordered the German version...
I got my package today. Great thanks to majinjeb for sharing the eBay link here.
Now I got extra 7 volumes, but I already found someone interested to buy them from me.
Not a problem at all. Hunters gotta hunt, right? I'm here to help if you need it.
It's awesome you found a buyer for the extras. I know I have random extras from different series and I figured I'd never find buyers (I'm not even sure where they are now).
Well I finally got volumes 9 and 14...in German of course. :P
Though it's actually a bit interesting. The volume size is smaller than the English volume size. Like maybe half a inch in perimeter.
Since the books are new the quality is of course excellent. The back cover of 9 and 14 both have a colored Gon winking while punching
and there is the background which while mostly being red has a super imposed image from the manga in a inverted white outline.
For Volume 9 it is Uvogin yelling and 14 appears to be some scenery from Greed Island. The cast of characters page doesn't seem
to change since it still has the same picture of Gon as Volume 9 does but in the English volume 12 it is changed. Looks as gory as ever
so nothing appears to be censored. Though I wasn't expecting it to be. There is no preview for the next volumes.
There is some sort of checklist that names what I'm guessing is all the manga published by the publisher which is Carlsen Manga.
Suppose I will have to use Google translate to read this. :P

Two things I noticed in the German version
1. Killua is spelled as Killuah
2. Greed Island is now "Green Island".

Phantom Troupe or Spiders is now called The Illusionist.
The size of the German volumes might actually be the same size as the Japanese ones. Now I don't own any Japanese editions of manga, but based on what I've seen they're the same size as the French and Spanish editions (though some publishers might have slightly different sizes). English volumes, particularly those by Viz, tend to be bigger, which personally is what I prefer (that and the fact that they don't have dust jackets ).
