The end of the civil war signaled the start of the industrial revolution in the United States and immigrants from all over the world traveled to find their American dream. But what awaited the majority of them was poverty, discrimination, and hopelessness. Manhattan, New York was full of immigrants flooding through the ports and the 6th district, Five Points, was considered at the time, the world’s worst slum. The mobsters corrupted the entire area, including the police by paying them off; Five Points was the mob’s territory and they were the law.
But even Five Points, where there seemed to be nothing but robbery, prostitution, and murder, showed some signs of hope. Luke Burns was an honest and righteous teenager who realized that the mob was the cause of their harsh lifestyle and that joining the mobsters would not bring him the American dream. But his older brother, Brad Burns, had become an assassin for the biggest mob group of Five Points, the Grave Diggers, a secret he kept from Luke for his own protection. Brad was known as the Grim Reaper and his reputation preceded him as a ruthless and skilled killer.

Seriously it is by the author of hideout? Wow, he sure is diverse in his themes, nice touch of blending history with some overall awesome topics to give commentary on. The art should be great! Sticky~!
^ the art is great. while i haven't read hideout, this manga seems quite promising so far.
I like this manga. The art really is amazing. I'll definitely continue to read this manga.
BUMP! I think this thread deserves a tad more action than what it gets....
Is this thing on Hiatus or what?
The last one was published a month ago.
They said that they will work on doing the rest of the series which goes to the final chapter 49. I hope they work on it regularly again as I can't wait to see more of the epic artwork!
Also, if you like this time period and type of action you should check out the TV show Copper it's pretty badass as well. =)
I have finished this like one week ago, but just today suddenly the urge to comment popped up. I have to say that I'm slightly disappointed by how short it is - which is more likely due to commercial reasons rather than the author's initiative. The art quality is superb, and the story had a lot of potential to be expanded but ended up being quite repetitive on some occasions. Nevertheless, it's a good manga, but unfortunately it failed to meet my high expectation on this series.
