Part1: 1.Setting the aims of a young ninja's life.
Part2: 2.The young ninja learning what is the real meaning of those aims he set for himself.
in part1 naruto talked about not giving up. it was easy(easier) back then...all it required was not giving up on his fights, keep standing back again to the applause of all.
in part2 naruto understood how difficult it can be not giving up, how hard its to go against the public demand to root for his friend and his ideal of peace.
in part1 naruto talked about being hokage, cause he thought that will make everyone rocognize him.
in part2 naruto came to understand that what is truly important is to protect other ppl, only that way he'd be rocognized and then he can be hokage. meaning that being hokage is the least of his priorities...cause one who doesn't hanker after being hokage is the worthiest of being hokage.
in part1 naruto talked about no one knowing his destiny until he tried.
in part2 naruto came to realize that the same is true for him as he faced pain...his choice is what would made his destiny. and how before him it was his father's choice, and his master's.
so overall one-liner: an ordinary boy trying to become an extraordinary man, through his own efforts and with the help of the others.
Part 1: Emotional Talk-no-jutsu + beat you up until I find a solution.
Succeeded: Zabuza, Gaara, and Tsunade.
Part 2: Emotional Talk-no-jutsu version 2 groveling and tears added for maximum power. A lot of believe-in-me-no-jutsu added later on during the arcs.
Succeeded: Nagato, the village of Konoha and some others.
Failed: Raikage the first time and Sasuke
@assher....I would argue that Naruto isn't really an ordinary boy as you say in the overall 1liner...I wouldn't say how much does his heritage count in the overall scheme of things, but we can't ignore the fact that he is Uzumaki
Pre-time skip: strategy over power
Post-time skip: power over strategy
Also, Naruto being son of Minato does not automatically mean he can Hiranshin no jitsu. Both Naruto and Gaara surpassed their biju in some way.
But I can agree the feeling of hard work had went to second role.
also, about prophecy thing...
It`s just a prediction. Just a help to belive that peace is possible. It is not to mean to naruto to really unite everybody by himself, it is just help for him to never give up on his target. And help for everybody to belive in Naruto

Part 2 : Uchiha ( the supeeerrr haxxxeeed ninjas)
a bunch of sad little kids who grow up to be twisted individuals
best theme for naruto !!!!
( i read that on some other message board a while back )
Part 1: cool "ninja" manga
Shippuden: getting crappier by the minute
Oh... I got another one.. pertains to the filler in the anime...
Part I: The filler believably expands the story of the side characters
Part II: Did Konohomaru almost beat Temari??? DAFUQ!!?
Part I: The story of an outcast overcoming adversity to become a well-trained fighter while meeting many new characters - "With hard work and determination, we can overcome and write our own fate!"
Part II: The story of Yu-Gi-Oh, where everyone just happen to have the perfect counter to everyone - "It's a good thing I just happened to pull this random non-sense out of my ass"
