Ep 174 Stream
Several things about this episode :
First off, animation is bad as usual. DF however, was so ugly in the anime, I couldn't even watch it with a straight face. But this is nothing knew, so whatever.
The second thing is, the action scenes were surprisingly solid.
The third thing is, do they need to show every single human reaction after every single punch\attack ? I don't know about you guys, but I don't appreciate seeing Levy's exceptionally annoying reaction , followed by Mavis commenting, then Wendy and Lucy's reaction after every punch (And I'm being generous as to exclude another hundred reaction.)
The fourth thing is, those animators should stop developing characters on their own. I ignored the fact that they tried to develop the relation between Lyon and Gray last episode, but now it's unbearable. Who's idea was it to turn Levy into an annoying fan girl that keeps screaming for Gajeel after everything he does ? How the hell did Gray know of DF ?
The final thing is kinda bad in a good way. So I enjoyed it, but it wasn't right. And that is...some of the fillers. I understand that they sometime mix fillers with battles, but this episode was so completely different from the manga, so much that it felt I'm watching an entirely different fight. So I like that part that it felt knew to me, but it's still a filler filled episode.
So overall, the action scenes where the only decent thing.

Don't mind the idea of Levy fangirling, but yeah. I would have liked a lot fewer reactions from the peanut gallery. Hearing about how the sound of the cheering had changed over and over in the infirmary was obnoxious.
I think... really, I was expecting them to do the fight in one episode and make the last one mostly padding with all those cliffhangers at the end. I still think it would have been better to add silly downtime to a more low key episode than to constantly interrupt the fight like that. Mostly, I think we didn't need to see the infirmary more than once, if at all.
I like the fight, but there's way too much time in the infirmary that it's kind of annoying. I like it more than the last episode, though.
The first half of the episode's animation was pretty shit I have to say, but the second half suddenly exploded with awesomeness! It got better when Sting when DF...looks like they saved the animation budget for the DF scene. I was looking forward to Natsu's burning off stigma scene but I though the music and execution was quite bad :/ As I said before, 2nd half was really good but I wish they spent a bit more time on the first half :/
Yeah, all those interruptins kinda ruined the pace of the episode, but I liked it nonetheless.
The last part of the episode was pretty good and I can't wait to see the next one.
I wonder where they will end the anime before the hiatus; I suppose it will end with the chapter 297 as someone said.
1 more episode left!
So, do we know yet how long we will have to wait before Fairy Tail is picked by the other studio and continues?
I hope when FT returns from hiatus , theyll return wirh a better animated dragon slayer fight even if its just one or two eps ,

OMG FT anime is over? Like over over or is just hiatus thingu..omg u.u
Loved the episode. I think it's the better one shown for this Arc.
Natsu Roar > Rouge Roar, and lets not forget his Secret Art Technique finishing blow was awesome.
There was no preview for next episode which kinda sucked to me. I was hoping if they not going to continue with the Arc there would be fillers, or at least we get to see

I think the fight was decent, and the only thing was missing is the Dragon Slayer Theme should have been playing it the whole battle, but its not like it will be what I want the whole time, so I would settle with this good episode after all that done lately
