The anime follows the manga storyline for the most part but it's a pretty mediocore adaption. It speeds through a lot of the earlier stuff and messes with Alibaba's character development in the Zagan arc by adding on some unnecessary angst. It's not complete trash but I don't know how much I can recommend it

I'm quite certain that most of us who had read the manga and finished the anime would recommend to better read the manga. But I don't know if you should begin from the start or start where the anime had left off. The anime had taken at least more than a hundred chapters in one season, and if you chose to read it from the very first then you should have a very strong sense of patience and determination It's not that long as it seems, since most of the chapters are only 18-20 pages long, not that hard to read tho.

If you want to start reading from where the anime had stopped, then all I can say is, goodluck with it. You'll eventually understand once you caught up with the recent chapter. I recently did this option when I started reading SnK after watching episode 18 and I kind of regret it LOL

what bothered me is that the changes in the magi anime from the manga were uneccessary and made little sense

the alibaba stuff at the end was horrible but i get that they were ending it at 25 episodes so they needed an ending

but the other stuff being out of order made no sense

Thanks so much gals/guys for your input. I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna start from the beginning of the manga now lol. Gonna head to the store and pick up the first volume as well >_<
