Japan sharing the love for Hunter x Hunter! : ) Been a while since it's been a 4% rating but not surprising since the movie came out that weekend, this week's episode coming up will prolly have a higher rating too
On an unrelated Hunter note, seems PsychoPass/Robotics;Notes is doing decently well for Noitamina, better than Summer with Kids on the Slope/Natsuyuki Rendevous at least
I only just watched the episode today. And I don't really know how to feel about it?
At first I felt there was something off with the whole episode. I don't know why; I just did. Something about the way the characters were drawn. Anyway. Then I was miffed with all the omitted scenes, the Janken one in particular. But the episode was still entertaining, and it wouldn't really be disappointing to watchers unless they were expecting things to go like the manga. The pacing seems to be going a bit fast, but MH has done that in some episodes in the past. I guess I'll see this as one of the low points of the arc for me, but it certainly won't bring the whole arc down.
Now the reason why I feel a bit disappointed with the scene cutting was because that kinda sucks some of the worldbuilding out of it. Not to mention how we could have seen more of Gon works if he had explained Janken. Togashi's worldbuilding has always been one of those things I have come to appreciate. Still, the episode works in that it introduces Biscuit earlier; which, I guess, is more important than showing the whole card stealing scene. And I guess MH is trying to make Gon's move a surprise, hence the cutting.
Not a bad episode per se. I just wish they didn't cut out the Janken scene (it would also give the Hunter Exam scene with Gon advising Leorio more meaning), but I guess MH has their reasons. I mean, it probably only feels rushed to those who wanted to see the omitted scenes. But to anime-only watchers, I'd think the episode was still splendidly done. The rush is probably just to transition things properly and to settle things down. To get everyone introduced and get the watchers familiar with the game, to set up the Troupe in the Game, establish the group trying to collect all the cards, and so on and so forth. I'm hoping that they would bring the pace down in the next couple of episodes.
I'm not as upset about them cutting out the card getting stolen as much as I am about the Janken scene. :<
For an anime-only watcher it's a decent episode, but even so, it felt "choppy". But like I said, once Bisuke appeared, things got a lot better.
I'm pretty sure that scene will raise up as soon as Gon reaches a particular training.
I hope so! It wouldn't be the first time they switched scenes around or that.
I only had one problem with this episode.Pacing.
It was a bit too fast and that affected the importance of some scenes.Considering Togashi's speed at churning out chapters per year,I thought Madhouse would take their time.
On the flipside,I really like Bisuke in this version. Her VA did an excellent job, alongside with her character design really potray as an innocent, harmless girl.
It has become more, more and MORE obvious that the directors are trying to finish a certain number of chapters (which they do not need to) within a "quota" of episodes. It is like stuffing a teddy bear into a cage 1/2 of its size and still trying to make it look like a teddy bear.
Especially unnatural in the last episode, aside from the cut sections, is the part where Biscuit told Gon/Killua to use Gyo. Without knowing her in advance, Gon/Killua should hesitate for a moment. Now, probably because of episode length limit, the directors decided to cut out this little detail. It is like stuffing the bear inside the cage, then cutting short its legs and arms to make it fit in.
There are MANY other places in this anime where they have done this but where they should not have. I do not want to say anything bad, but I really hope this does not continue into the Chinera Ant arc, if they ever decide to animate it.

Couple corrections made:
mad house is more excited for the chimera arc than us..
i didn't like the part of killua winning in janken tournament ..i mean it's gon's specialisation ...other than that.. didn't care about the other scenes
.in other hand actually this may work on our sides cutting unimportant scenes will force togashi to go back to the serialisation
