what is scary is WSJ . is there any big hit outside of it ( shounen ) not including detective conan ? i mean every time i follow oricon charts i don't see any selling over 500K
Arakawa's new work, Gin no Saji.
There are plenty that I could think of
Ao no Exorcist
Kimi ni Todoke
Nana (before the hiatus)
Shingeki no Kyojin
Saint Young Men
March comes in like a lion
You should pay more attention to the cumulative sales numbers.
Shingeki no Kyojin, Gin no Saji, Kuroshitsuji, Vagabond. And if you count other Shueisha publications, Kimi ni Todoke and Ao no Exorcist.
Shuiesha might have the biggest hits, but other publishers have plenty bestsellers of their own.
Those are not all shonen.
Yes, the guy asked about shonen.
Shingeki no Kyojin and Ao no Exorcist, I forgot them. And Fairy Tail, sometimes, sells over 500k before falling out of the chart.
yeah i do see Ao no exorocist high in the charts... but i haven't seen fairy tail selling that much yet ( i rarely have an interest in how much it sells but when i do i always find it at 350K-400K )
But we will be sure when the total sales of 2012 are released.
I only saw the 2011 ranking so far: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...by-volume/2011

Ah, there is the first half of 2012 sales: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...012-first-half
Magi - Labyrinth of Magic sold really well this week on the Oricon charts. I expect it to sell even more than usual, given that the anime just started and already old volumes are resurfacing on the chart too. It runs in Shonen Sunday along with Silver Spoon.
But really, I want to see how well Assassination Classroom will do. Its just...really fascinating! I'll be curious to know how long it'll last. Those numbers are just...broken.

So no one is talking about Jump Festa? Ok.
So as most Kuroko fans know, the mangaka has been getting death threats for the past two months at least. And not only the mangaka, several doujinshi events related to Kuroko no Basuke have been cancelled due to threats containing poison and lethal gas.
The most recent update is that all Kuroko events planned for Jump Festa have now been cancelled, due to the frequency and severity of these threats. The venue for Jump Festa received threats as well. Comiket has also come forward stating they've received threats relating to Kuroko, along with envelopes containing harmful powder and liquids. If Comiket restricts Kuroko fans and doujinka from attending, that's a loss of at least 900 circles.
Even though this is specifically related to Kuroko no Basuke, the fact that Jump Festa is going to cancel a major part of their event because of these threats shows that this problem is getting steadily worse. It makes me wonder what has Jump done in the past when faced with such a threat. I really hope they are keeping at eye out for Kuroko's mangaka, this must be a hard time for him.
Total nonsense to me, I don't have a clue what makes this guy/girl/group so angry.Quote:
I saw all the cancellation's too Tee and it really is a shame. The mangaka should feel happy after that huge popularity boost the series got but instead he's probably constantly troubled by that weirdo Feeling sorry for him and all the fans of the series.
