Izanami is a gamewinning jutsu. One can't escape it unless they know how, or unless they're INSANELY lucky. Itachi wanted to teach Kabuto a lesson, so he told him, ad-nauseum, how to escape the jutsu. Also, it's not as simple as "accepting who you are". It's accepting the reality that the Izanami caster is forcing you to accept.
Well anyway, I like Kabuto, but didn't feel he had the same necessity to the manga as other characters. At most he should've been a jobber to reveal Sasuke or Naruto's newest ability (but instead he was a jobber to Itachi, who's purpose in the manga was already gone). I disagree with everyone claiming he was tailor-made to face Naruto in a Sage Mode competition because... Naruto is a lot more than a Sage now. If all this had happened before Naruto started his training to gain Chakra Mode then yeah, Sage Mode would've been alot more relevant, and Kabuto would've been the perfect foil. Too late for that though.
