By 2039, global warming had caused sea levels to rise and large amount of territory to be lost. As though in response, a mysterious group of warships clad in mist, “the Fleet of Mist,” appeared in every corner of the ocean, and began attacking human ships. In spite of humanity mustering all their strength, they were utterly defeated by the Mist's overwhelming force. All of humanity's trade routes were blockaded by the Fleet of Mist, their political economy was destroyed, and the human race was steadily beaten down. Seven years later, the Fleet of Mist's submarine I-401 appears before cadet Gunzo Chihaya. The humanoid life form that pilots the sub, who should be their enemy, is instead offering her services to mankind.

Hmm, I must get used to this graphic, but I can say for sure that this anime will be my favourite for this season, since it's story is very intriguing.
I wonder who's commanding this fleet and why Iona has offered her services to humanity, or rather, to Gunzou; guess we'll know someday.
Battleships are often named after woman names and okay, this makes a nice bridge. But aside from that, there wasn't really much to enjoy in the first episode. It sort of looked like an event-recapping episode, and they only slightly introduced the enemy fleet members. Naval battle scenes were nothing extraordinary, but I wouldn't say the effects were failure.
Maybe it'll get interesting once we get to know who orders Fog Fleet.
The weird CG effects distracted from the actual exposition going on this episode, so I only got a glimpse of what was going on. The Blue Steel fleet and the other female ships are interesting to me (though I feel like the main guy is kind of generic). I'll give the second episode a watch, but if I can't get used to the animation style, it's probably going to be a drop for me.
So Gunzou will create an Harem of ships? Takao clearly blushed after looking at him. LOL
Anyway I really liked this episode and the navy battle was very well done and full of surprises, at least for me. XD
Looking forward to seeing the next episode.
After undropping it I finally catched up with it.
I'm so glad that I gave it a second chance. The battles are well done and the characters are likeable after all. Especially Haruna and Iona.
Anyway. I really want to know what the Fog is, when his friends became Gunzous crew and how many ships will be with him at the end.

I swear that Takao and Hyuuga are the best characters of this show with their delusions. LOL
Anyway I'm really liking this anime so far and its themes really intrigue me.
I can't wait to watch the next episode everytime I have watched the latest one. XD
Takao and Iona were really cute this time. The latter is starting to have feeling for our captain. Makes me wonder even more what the fog actually is.
Finally the flagship wants action... I guess next time we will see the creation of the Blue Fleet.

Well Gunzou that failed... But it was predictable. No way the flagship would be defeated by talking. Although it was nice to get more insight on their characters.
Anyway. Next week they will have to defeat them somehow... I wonder which kind of strategy Gunzou wants to use. Should be quite difficult.

Haruna is so funny and cute when she's not wearing her usual clothes and what the was Kirishima doing? LOL
Anyway this was a nice episode and it was obvious that Kongo wouldn't be convinced by Gunzou.
Now I'm kinda looking forward to watching the next episode as always.
Still, Kongou showed a bit of interest in what all of that stuff was about. She even tasted the food. Not that she was convinced, of course.
Can't say similar things about Maya. She doesn't seem to care one bit about what happens to who. Such a carefree girl
Great episode. It was more of a mental battle than a physical one and Gunzou and his fleet won it. At least against Kengo and Maya...
After that they lost against 400 and 402... Damn I hope somebody will save them...

Whoa, that was really a huge cliffhanger! But someone will help them........at least I hope so.
Anyway this was really a good episode and the naval battle between Kongou and gunzou was really well done.
Now, I'm literally dying to watch the next episode.
That was touching... Iona is almost too human by now... Same goes for Takao. The fog changed...
Now that those creepy twins pushed Kongou into a corner... I smell an alliance.
