No, One Piece Forever!
not yet... One piece still has a tonne of potential yet!
but once this is over - I would definitely check out his next manga!
Definitely not now. Oda needs to give his all for this masterpiece. Having another series will drop both the manga's qualities imo
I do want him to make a new series once OP is over (but I hope it's still a long way to go to that), but definitely not while it's still going.
I voted the first option, but obviously it will be valid only when Oda will have ended OP (men, just the thought gives me the shivers).
As someone already said Oda wouldn't concentrate enough on OP and this would cause a total destruction of his current (and epic) manga.
I would rather see him just purely focus on One Piece at present. It's been a hell of a journey for him (and for us) over the years and I guess he'll take some time off once One Piece ends (T^T). I'm not against him making a new series but I wouldn't like to see it happen while OP is still active.
It would be interesting to see him make a new series that's totally different and unexpected~ That would be a nice suprise.
If he writes it, I'll read it.
I would recommend a break after OP, and only than start some of his ideas, a old school and funny robot series could be nice. That would be a reverse of Toriyama (Dr. S>DB), but nothing big, so he or better we can get an end without having to wait for years. And doing something short may do him some good too.
Once One Piece has ended, I would like to see a new series of Mr. Oda.
But even better would be if he keeps expanding One Piece with Bonus chapters.
No. Although theoretically there's room for improvement in his performance, e.g. Mashima (Fairy Tail) produces more pages on average, still Oda wouldn't be able to deliver a OP chapter every week.
I dont understand this thread. Clearly it's an author choice. Now, if the question is: would you like to read a new Oda's manga?, then.. if you like Oda's work, the answer is yes, if you dont like it, then answer is no. I would read it.
Oda is a great writer and story teller, so yeah, I'd like him to release his other stories that he did in "Wanted". Even if, some are just one shot stories. Oda has done a magnificent job with One Piece and his imagination isn't limited to this one great series.
i would want him to make a new series if it is in the vein of Nobuhiro Watsuki and embalming. or one shots like toriyama but another weekly series will be too much for him and us. we would read it since it is oda but i think it wont be as engaging or original as OP since writing as long as he did, might cause him to be over repetitive with his ideas.
thou if his recent comments is anything to go by he might actually retire and spend time with his family. he certainly made enough money to live by. and probably will continue to make it like toriyama even if he doesnt do much of anything.
Well Oda said he'd go into retirement after finishing OP, so I really doubt we'd see much work form him after it ends. I would be curious as to what he could or would do next though as seeing multiple works from an author can really say something about their style and ways of handling things such as togashi, Himoru and Makoto Raiku.
Seeing some one shots from his 'wanted!' collection he can come up with a good amount of ideas though OP is clearly his best one and I'm not sure how it would match up. Most authors second works tend to be the so-called stronger work, but in this case.... its uncertian. So if anything I would like to see something after he completes one piece, wether its a one shot or serialization, just to see what he'd do that isn't OP related...
I guess you could say is a frightful excitment?
