What if the Royal Guards are not a bunch of assholes as we all think? Maybe they're nice people.
I'm not quite sure about the other three. I can't tell if the guy with the glasses is crazy in a funny way or a scary way. I guess he'll be the 'silly' one. Hikifune (or at least I assume it's Hikifune) looks stern. She's kind of scary, actually. The beardy guy, I don't know what to expect. He seems like he could either be really nice or just cruel.
But the Captains have said some pretty cryptic things about them, too. Mayuri said he's not happy about meeting them, and Shinji seemed to be warning Ichigo about it. It could be because they don't fully trust them, or they're scared of them, or just wary of their general reputation. I guess we'll see when they open their mouths next chapter.
Fullbring comes from hollow powers so as far as we know acquiring it and assimilating it is something which should have enhanced ichigo's normal hollow abilities. I can't help but wonder if ichigo is scared of using his mask. I find it a tad strange that he hasn't even tried to use it so far. Before his dangai training he was said to be scared of his hollow powers so perhaps now that fullbring would have hypothetically enhanced them he fears them even more? Or perhaps zangetsu removing shirosaki from ichigo's soul having him within zangetsu is what made him not have his mask and shirosaki's powers simply exist in ichigo's standard forms. Either way, ichigo still has hollows powers, he is just manifesting them differently and perhaps scared to use them.
The guy with the glasses looked the most like a One Piece character. Especially that maniacal grin of his.
I'm betting the bearded guy is the head and the longest serving member of the bunch (probably the most powerful as well).
They are there to change things up in the SS and they are probably there to admonish the hell out of all the captains. Since they are more powerful, the captains can't complain or refute whatever they say and whatever they do. I think the captains dread whatever actions the Zero squad may take.Quote:
Apart from Hikifune, I reckon all of them have served under Yamamoto in the Original Gotei 13 (the one that Bach refers to as being totally BEAST).

What were those pillars in the beginning of the chapter? Was that actually the Royal Dimension or something? Because I haven't seen those pillars before.
There are atleast two different translations available so I'm confused.
One makes it seem like it's in Seiretei, and the other leaves you wondering.

regarding whether squad 0 is nice or not , we cant trust mayuri's words reactions: he thinks badly of anyone example:urahara, kenpachi, unohana etc
They might seem nice at first but I expect them to pull a face-heel turn at some point in the future once it's revealed they're in service to some kind of big jubbly evil thing aka Spirit King.
Example: You think those Hollow souls are "purified"? More like siphoned directly into the palace to serve as a delicious meal for Lord Cthu-ahem Soul King!
And then we use those souls to create Philosophers stones which I've implanted into every member of the Zero Division.
I may be getting my references mixed here.

Juha's words about how ruthless Gotei 13 was comes to my mind. If ZD compose of captains that have served in earliest Gotei 13 or the defense body prior to that, I doubt we will see them with pleasant personalities. Hikifune could be an exception. Hiyori's affection with her suggests she was a loving and a caring captain. Looking at them, the fat one is my pick for Hikifune. She has soft expressions on her face, while the other seems really serious. Just guessing...
There are six pillars from what we can see, but only 5 royal guards. I guess one of them is missing(Isshin ?) or remained back in the royal realm(The guard captain commander ?)
Is that 100% sarcasm or more like 80? :P
There are five, because there are only five royal guards, not six. Why wouldn't the people with the most information from G13 know, if there were more. It's not like there was any reason to hide the real number, just saying.
I wouldnt be surprised if the royal guard was condescending and arrogant and therefore got on the gotei 13's nerves. They are stronger than the G13 and they know it so they'll probably ask why the G13 let soul society get to the state it did. On the other hand however they may be happy that soul society got destroyed because they can get out of the royal palace and do something for a change. I doubt they do much there considering all the threats are handled by the G13 first. Also it seems to me that the RG and the G13 are two separate organizations for one they have two separate interests (to an extent) thats just my impression that I got when kyoraku was describing the wall.
