    I don't do torrents but my experience with free proxies is that they're mostly slow and unstable. If you can afford to pay $100/year, there're good VPN services such as ExpressVPN which gives you great speeds and online security.

    I have a problem with my external disk... When I try to use it its name is not displayed, I can't open it and my PC doesn't respond as long as it's plugged( sometimes it's only My Computer section though). How can I fix this without formatting?

    Does the problem occur on all USB ports, and even when there're not other USB devices connected? If so, disconnect the device, download and run USBDeview (x86 or x64 version depending on your system), uninstall your WD external disk, reboot your computer and try to connect it again.

    On all ports but it's a little different at times, there are 2 ports 2.0, the disk is not recognized when I connect it there, when I connect it to the 3rd port(3.0), My Computer section doesn't respond.

    By uninstall your WD external disk, do you mean WD Smartware or USB controller drivers?

    When you run USBDeview, it gives you a list of USB devices you've used on your system. Your external hard disk must be on this list, the description lets you identify the correct one, the device type will be "Mass Storage". If you're not sure which one it is, you can connect the external disk and the device button will turn from gray to green. Just disconnect it again, right click on the device and choose "Uninstall Selected Devices". After you reboot, connect the disk and Windows will hopefully recognize the disk and reload the drivers.

    Tried it. It doesn't work.

    Does it work on other computers? Maybe you can extract what you need, then reformat the external hard drive...

    Actually, this problem occurred because I lent it to someone else, it's the second time something like that happens to me because I lent my disk to someone. I tried to use it on other PCs, it doesn't work.
