The war is over, the shinobi are going back home, and it cuts to the medical ninja tending to the wounded.
Tenga comes in with a small radio and tells them, "I have a message. Naruto's plane... was shot down... over the Land of Waves. It spun in... there were no survivors."
Naruto dies never becoming Hokage and God knows how but Sasuke ends up with Hinata.
Kakashi basically became the person as we know him today because of Obito. Obito has been a hero to him almost all his life and Kakashi, who is normally a collected and calm fighter (one of his big qualities), was a total wreck when Tobi's mask fell off. He was utterly shocked by the fact that the man behind the mask was his childhood teammate who he had looked up to and whose grave he had been visiting everyday in honour, unknowing that he is alive somewhere. Do you really believe that he could kill that very person without even blinking? Even though he kind of pulled himself together, his mind was still a wreck in that moment. It would have been a massive troll if Kakashi HAD killed him.
(Besides we don't even know if there might be any possible restrictions in the Kamui dimension.)
I don't understand the massive Tobito hating anyway.
And by the way, a massive troll would be if everyone just died. Yupp, massive death bomb.
