Ueda of course is leaving out the bit about how the whole after after Seijurou and Denshichirou is on his head, of course... ;-) A hint as to what's going on may be seen by what he said in Chapter 260:* The "spiral of death and killing," a concept that Ueda may know of, although it was Shishidou Baiken and Musashi who spoke of it in the novel. (Baiken's defeat is touched upon in a future issue in a Musashi introspective.)Quote:
** Musashi's already had a nightmare about this happening while he was crippled, being on the receiving end of the "dog eat dog" cycle of tenka musou (unequaled under heaven).
We got 264 out a lot earlier than we predicted (got on a roll):
We'll start working on 265. Again, we'll aim for the weekend.

Gh-Otsuu, har har har.
It's fairly abstract again. Anyways, we'll get to work on the next chapter once we get the raws.

just read 265. awesome. it's building up, the two great masters that will soon meet. I'm really enjoying this because I haven't read up anything about Miyamoto Musashi in history or other literatures.
It's so cool to once again have Vagabond on regular basis. I'm still surprised to see there's not a bigger following of that manga so I'd like to thanks again everyone who is responsible on providing us with the scanlations.
We got 266 out:
We should get the next chapter out before next weekend, but we'll try to get it out as soon as possible.
266 has been the most interesting one I've read so far. Can't believe Musashi and Kojiro are going to be in the same castle.
yes, very interesting chapter.
i never thought it would go in that direction. i was thinking all this while that it would be kojiro vs musashi. well, who knows, maybe so, in the end, because only they are worthy of each other as rivals. but i never thought they'd be together so soon like that. i thought they'd always be kept on separate ways until they face each other.
very deep sh*t too about the katana by the old man. cool.
And here's another chapter:
Again, we'll start work on the next chapter once we get the raws.
i didnt understand the conversation between musashi and the old man. anyone care to explain? i only understood the part where the old man was asking him to be a Lord.
The last conversation in the chapter was a bit confusing to start off with, just from how they were talking. It didn't help that it was really late (early?) when we were proofing/typesetting it, but, looking over it now, I think the confusion just comes from the nature of the conversation.
Anyway, the basic idea is that Itakura is regretting that he never got strong like Musashi, because he was too anxious rather than aggressive, and is telling Musashi to continue in a sensible manner (the middle way, I suppose). It's sort of a vicarious thing, I think, where Itakura wishes he could have been as awesome as Musashi and wants to see Musashi continue without destroying himself.
Hope that helps
