I wrote a batch PNG output script for Photoshop several months ago for a tutorial I never ended up finishing, and it recently occurred to me that I may as well put it up here. And yes, I know Photoshop has it's own batch export built in that's more robust, but this script provides a fairly straightforward approach.
First off, it only works in CS2+, CS1 doesn't have a lot of the scripting features 2 and 3 do.
You can download the script here.
To use, simply extract the .jsx file, right click it -> Open With -> Photoshop.
You can also load it from inside Photoshop with File -> Scripts -> Browse.
I put together a page that explains the features more in depth here.
