Discussion Bats???

does anyone know why in the first chapter allen appears in a cloud of bats,and they also keep acompaning him to the point he slams the cop on a chair? is it supposed to be a power of him and the mangaka gave up the idea, because i don't really belive it to have just been a coincidence those bats to appear and make the scene so creepy.... and sorry if this was discussed already!
