I would like to nominate Hyouka for best anime of 2012. The plot was constantly creative, thoughtful, and interesting, and well written. All four of the main characters were incredibly memorable. The animation, character design, and backgrounds were masterfully done. "Watashi, Kininarimasu" is now part of my anime lexicon.

For best anime 2012, I vote for Chuunibyou. For people like me who used to be like some of those characters, you can sort of reconnect with yourself from the past while laughing over one of their jokes or imaginary battles; it's real nice.

A good example of an excellent adaption that even surpasses the manga, something you don't see that often. The success of the series and it's influence on the manga's popularity speak for itself.

Kuroko no Basket - a great adaption of the manga, in my opinion it's even better than the original! Fun twist to sports anime, intense and good animation, overall awesome characters and voice cast. I really hope there will be a second season.


Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic - Mysterious, epic, emotional, super-funny, unique in its Arabian Night-esque setting, deepening plot, even gives a great economic lesson, lovely characters. Add awesome music, a super-cast of voice actors, great fight-scenes and some really good animation, and you have a very good adaption of a very good manga. It's only been 11 episodes so far, and having read the manga, I can say it hasn't even reached the best parts yet. So much more to come.

Space Brothers.

Slice of life presented in a very interesting way. The strongest point of this anime are characters which seem to be made from flesh and blood (plus they're not your typical retarded teenagers but adults which rarely happens). What's more it has humour that makes me actually laugh which hasn't happened since Gintama. Also the theme of the story which is astronautics is not only interesting but as a bonus most people can actually learn something useful (in physics for example). Now that I think about it, maybe the main reason I like this anime so much is because it actually requires from a viewer to use his brain a little (for example to notice some hints and predict some things or to try and do instant arithmetics along with the characters).
