Yamato Yuudai? He's fighting evenly with Tezuka, and make him go PoP. That's pretty good record.

Yes, Yamato. Fighting evely with Tezuka is impossible for every other player there except for Yamato.

The Doubles question I found extremely difficult.
But this is an easier one.
Yamato Yuudai ftw. Anybody who is somewhat good at tennis will struggle against GUYU.

You can't discuss this, Jirou is gonna win anyways lol.
I found that ridiculous.
Konjiki could defeat Jirou. I don't see Jirou shitting on Tornado Snake like Konjiki did. As far as we know, it was the first time he had seen it too.

Kenya could defeat him too.

Yamato has this in the bag.

Just wait and see (?)

Mmm, seriously, I don't see Yamato wining against Kabaji. It's probably between Yamato/Kabaji/Hirakoba...

So I'm voting for Davide, because it's the most ridiculous vote.

1. Yamato
2. Matsudaira

That's my top 2 ranking. Yamato was even with National! Tezuka, and Matsudaira were giving Shiraishi and Kirihara hard time with his serve. Matsudaira would have beat Shiraishi if he didn't take his golden gauntlet off, as far as we know. I know he didn't look handsome, but his skill is real. National! Shiraishi would have crap on everyone here except Yamato as far as I'm concern.

I'm not sure about the 3rd place. Rin, or Kenya? Something along those line.

Kabaji strength depend entirely on whom he fight. He can't be tier. We already saw his maximum, though. He's somewhere along 2nd court to lower than 1st stringer right now, if we assume he fights in 2nd court match.

You may not remember but Kaoz and I put out a discussion on line-ups regard the BJB's return and 3rd Court, 5th Court and 6th Court.

We had this with the most likely: Tooyama S3, Oishi/Niou D2, Sanada Genichiro S2, Inui/Yanagi D1, Echizen Ryoma S1.

This line-up destroys any court. out of the 5 sets, they are definetely taking at least 3 lol.

There's no question that Yamato's far above anyone else listed here.

lol i recall tezuka owning him early on. only cuz of special move , tailor mostly for tezuka did he score any points. no point in teh anime or manga does it show yamato scoring on tezuka where tezuka could return a shot.

EDIT: also not his 2 2 2 22 2 stats shown in the manga .

Using a special shot to win is winning. It doesn't make a difference. And Irie say that he hides his skill. If he hides his true skill, his stat might be higher than the stat sheet.

There's a quote that they can't be gauge by stat, or something along those line.

difference of opinion on yamato. other MSers wont get let tezuka get early straight games so easily with basic rallies , where as yamato couldnt do much. if his techique was designed for tezuka mostly, then he can't apply that to everyone. he said due to tezuka's specific talent to notice a persons breathing and muscles or something liek that , allowed yamato illusion tech to work. others dont have that talent so it wouldnt work on him.

Is sanada better than tezuka, because he won him once? his skill speaks for him self. yamato only played one person, he happened to play one of the strongest MSer, it was mainly for plot to move tezuka out of u-17.

@ashore

Yamato's technique was not made for Tezuka specifically.
It's for anybody who looks at his opponents hand movement when they swing. Almost every Singles player does that in this series.
Basic skill for anybody who is somewhat good.

So GUYU is effective the moment you become sort-of-good at Tennis.

In theory, it should be shat on by In and Closed Eyes however. Making Fuwa stronger than Yamato.
But Yamato should tuck away most MSers. I believe he is stronger than Tachibana.

Tachibana found difficulty with Kamikakushi. GUYU is like the Beast HS version.

alright i know why I was so insistent.. in the anime, yamato explains his ability differently, saying the reason why tezuka chases an illusion ball is because
yamato knows that tezuka instintcly plays by observing a players' movements and " breathing". and since that is what tezuka does instinctively, yamato is able to use his ability against him. (almost like subconsciously playstyle)

so that's why I reasoned this technique is specifically is used for him although it could be used for others.
I guess other advanced players also look at breathing to see where the ball will land.

how ever in the manga it doesn't explain it that well. also I'll probably agree that most advanced players look at their opponents movements to help anticipate the direction of the ball, but to look at someone's breathing that's really advanced. Not sure how many do that, and atobe saw through it in the anime with his insight.
