Well, I was wondering why there wasnt any mention about it or thread since it<s a newer manga and anime then slam dunk, anyway, ive started reading and watching it and the concept is pretty different from slam dunk even though its basketball, really futuristic and I thought it was pretty good, again, Inoue is just too good.

Re: Buzzer Beater

I didn't particularly like the anime. I generally prefer manga, but I didn't like the direction they took the anime in (How they changed it compared to the manga).
Although, the webcomic ending felt a bit rushed, but I thought it was a better off ending than where they left the anime at.

@tmacthenumber1: try #lurk.

I love Buzzer Beater, I read it more than five times.
The anime isn't bad, but the webcomic/manga was incredible, wonderful; it was a pity that they didn't use the anime to continue the story of the manga.

Re: Buzzer Beater

i only saw the anime and thought that it was mediocre at best. Sadly, i couldnt really get into the series despite the fact that it is a Takehiko Inoue series. I guess i should try out the manga.

Re: Buzzer Beater

Go here
http://www.itplanning.co.jp/
then click on English
then click on the side menu on the left side, the Buzzer Beater image.

You can view the Buzzer Beater webcomic from there. It IS a webcomic, so don't go in expecting a full fledged manga on the web.

Re: Buzzer Beater

The anime is pretty weak, but the webmanga is MADE OF AWESOME.
It was like seeing a fresh Slam Dunk-Special with other characters. :amuse

Even if it´s a short story, you can feel Inoue´s epic style in that final game. DT(awesome character, BTW)´s final pass to Maru, and the way that 3-point-shoot is portrayed(with Maru giving an interview and all) were just GOLD.

Great read. ;)

Re: Buzzer Beater

If anything, I suggest actually reading it online, and then just saving it that way if you want a backup.
I found getting it from lurk there was some file naming issues, so some of the comics were misplaced. Not many, but some, and sometimes it made things a bit weird.

Re: Buzzer Beater

I'd known only a little about this anime/manga....this is still like Slam Dunk, since they both are Inoue Takehiko's work..Buzzer Beater is also a basketball manga, but I think the difference is that the title's itself...

Re: Buzzer Beater

I thought I'd let people know. Buzzer Beater (2007) is being done by Saizen fansubs. It starts from where the first anime left off, and seems to be heading towards the same conclusion as the manga from what I gathered in the 4th episode (Hideyoshi starts getting his headaches).
