Just to follow up on what Siedhr mentioned about redrawing:

The art is Chev is quite complicated, resulting in the redrawing being quite artistically challenging. You can't just bust out the pen and clone tools and be good, or else I would have done it myself . The typeset is also very difficult -- Siedhr worked quite some hours on this chapter -- with lots of different fonts and adjustments needed to make the font fit in the bubble.

The anime is an adaptation of the manga, even though they changed the art, the story, and the general atmosphere.

I'm totally into that conspiracy+supranatural+swordfight+awesome plot twist+historical stuff. I've only watched one episode of the anime, but it's very, very different from the manga. The character design is different, the story is different as well, except for the premise.

They made D'Eon into a boring, spineless, brooding character, whereas in the manga he's funny and ditzy and cool.

I hope you enjoy the manga.

It was released by our group some time ago.

It's not useless and it's not a double thread. MH is undergoing some reorganization. Ongoing manga that are released by groups that are members of MH (and have their own Edited Manga section) will have their own releases thread. The other thread is strictly for discussions about the series.

Actually, besides the epic cross-dressing, manga D'Eon isn't all that exciting either...well maybe he would be, if I'd read more about him. Oh if only Strays would release more chapters~

Regardless, however promising the manga might be, the anime is more than just what you get from the first episode. It has amazing music, animation, characters and best of all, ridiculously realistic and awesome sword fights.

We'll do our best to keep gaps between the chapters at a minimum.

This manga takes place well before the Revolution (some 40 years before Louis XVII's execution). I'll doubt we'll get that far in time. Then again, this manga mangles history almost beyond recognition.

I think he is pretty interesting character.. especially his appereances in ch2 were pretty funny, and believable..

Just a note, the anime isn't on the same storyline as the manga, nor is the art style similar. You can enjoy one without enjoying the other. Me personally, I prefer the manga.

Ah yes, I'm used to manga & anime with different plot. Somehow I think it's better that way, den I can enjoy both of them ^^ w/o spoilers but the way i see it if the anime is good, the manga should be good too
