Dragon Colored

This is my first try

Can anyone tell me how to improve this? I already have this link- http://www.naruto2.com/Naruto2/Zarosaki-ColoringTutorial.aspx but that person has has perfectly curved lines where as I can't do that and I can't make colors blend. I have Photoshop CS2

How's that one?

Hmm ok,

it's absolutly not bad for a first try.( I think there is no worse first try, just better first trys^^)

I started with that tut, too and I know how you're feeling. Zarosaki's colorings are just O.O
Well, I think you chose the wrong picture to color just now. This panel has way to much black parts in it to fill with color. And if you have to color such a big area it's frustrating for a beginner. Try it again with this picture

It's not as spactacular as your choice, but you can do better here

And now some other things:
- I can't see much shadings and there is absolutly no highlight (it's in the tut oO)
- When you shade, try to make clear lines, maybe with the line-drawing tool(I've got teh german version so I don't know what it is told in english photoshop^^)
- try to use a normal shadow color and a even darker dark shadow color. But don't overdo it.
- and at least, not that you haven't done it, choose your colors carefuly^^
