When did Yasuharu Takanashi say that? I'm trying to piece together a timeline of information. So far, the last time we heard any news on the movie was when Chapter 471 came out in February. Does that sound correct?

It seems odd that no information has released since February. Surely they would have announced something if the movie was cancelled or something. Weird. Perhaps it was postponed? But I still feel like we would have received some news if that had happened...

We waited almost a year between the initial announcement and hearing even the most vague details. I see. I guess when they said it was greenlit for 2016, they meant that development would start this year but it wouldn't be released. I hope it comes out sometime mid-2017. I've been excited for it.

I asked the same thing not too long ago lol it's after cause in the teaser poster Natsu had bandages on his right arm so it was after FT disbanded

Having the movie come out right before the time of the anime returning is a good publicity tactic. And both probably increase manga sales. As we conclude Alvarez and transition into the climax arc and EoS battles.

It would have to be after the 1 year timeskip. As for the exact timeframe, it would depend on the character design and plot. The bandages on Natsu's arm seems to suggest it takes place in between the Avatar and Alvarez arc. In that case, the ability for him to dragonize will probably be explained with the movie itself.

However, if it turns out that Natsu regains the ability to dragonize after the whole thing with his heart, then it's possible that the movie takes place after the Alvarez arc. We would just assume that the bandages is just a fashion statement. Of course, Natsu's character design might have changed from when we first saw the movie promo until now. They've had a couple of years to work on it, after all.

Yes i am hyped for the second film.As it is set after the guild's disbandment i bet we may see only Team Natsu.And we may see Natsu Dragonizing and Lucy having Draco like Star Dress.Lot of NALU is in the film too.

It's about time. It's been like Two years since we heard anything. I wonder if this takes place after the Alvarez arc or before it. That promonotional pic might be outdated now.

I hope we get info on the anime soon!!!

A thread for the second movie since 15 oct and finally we're getting it after few months. The animation in Ova 8 and 9 sucks so bad really hope they improve or simply change the studio.

I think it will be between Avatar and Alvarez, because obviously the whole guild should be present for the movie. I'm hoping the animation and quality is the same as OVA 4,5,6. Those are the best of FT animation, imo. Artstyle similar to the manga, high quality, smooth animation and nice colors.

Hoping to get more information on the movie!!! Hoping to see Dragon!Natsu, Lucy's new Stardresses plus potential Nalu!!!

It's Natsu. There's a few words written beside it that has Natsu's name in it.
I'm guessing that scene is somewhere in the middle of the plot, right before the finale.
We'll probably get a flashback.
