first cleaning, pls rate :)

I want to learn cleaning to make my belmonde scans a lot better but well.... I guess I need help

raw




thinks done: resize, levelling, curving, denoising
needs to be done: adding black to black stuf (need help how to do that faster I simply take too long for that)

and what do I doe with the middle part where the scanner made this grainy section?

any suggestion what to make better would be nice

For the grainy section: you know how people mask off an area to remove the gutter shadow by levelling? Anyway, I did that but in the reverse to darken the "light gutters" If you want to attack the lot ( the 5 bands) all at once, you can save your selection and reload it for the next page. But you may have to shift them, the bands are not always in the same location from page to page.

Level these bands first before you denoise.

Another thing -- its not the scanner guy's fault that the banding occurred. The RAW scanners are usually top-notch. Its the fault of the crappy printing in the Jump magazine.

Black stuff...you can use the burn tool targeted at shadows to swipe across some areas.

Overall comments: It's much too dark - you overdid your leveling.
Typesetting: smaller fonts and a closer leading would make it look better.
Saving: save as png-8 to avoid the little black jpeg artefacts.

That's a bit of a low blow, eh? You know JUMP has to do this or else we won't buy the tankobon. And also on-line readers like us cut down their profits too.

I'm not an expert on magazine cleaning...you should consult the Manga Editors doing reborn now, I think they do a good job. Your second try is better than your first, but you did not do the basics: your image is not rotated and resized properly. ( resize to ht 1200px for faster DL)

As for typesetting...still awkward...notably the bubble shape is not ideal and you are crowding it as well. Why not consult this thread for more info.http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18549
