Re: Theater Lounge Hangout

i am excited about the currently airing anime's right now, alot of good stuff to watch
i know there is already a thread about that in the otaku theater section but i wanted to be the first post in this thread

i honestly think romantic/comedy/slice of life is slowly but surely catching up to shounen/action/adventure as being my favorite genre
some of the stories are just so well done, that i cant get enough of that type of anime

Re: Theater Lounge Hangout

Well for some reason, romantic stories dont compel to me as much. Especially the longer 25 episode ones. I just cant get hooked

Re: Theater Lounge Hangout

For some time now I'm hooked on romance stories like Toradora. I just love watching them. I don't know why...

Though there is still a part of me which enjoys a good shounen story. :3

if you like romance and shounen you should watch inuyasha if you havent already
they stopped it short but the final act does cover the important parts of the end

I watched it when it was popular in Germany. I disliked every character... =/

ha well i will say this

i enjoyed the anime, but i was younger at the time, and inuyasha was the first manga i ever read, ( i only started reading it because the anime ended abruptly) and it is one of the cases where the manga is WAY better than the anime, so i do understand why you and others probably feel that way

it was a good anime, but a great manga IMO

i would tell you that the other great episode of shounen action and fighting with romance is shakugan no shana

but something tells me you have heard of that one :^_^

i agree, romances tend to be better 25 episodes and under
that is plenty of time to build up the plot and complete the climax without getting too legnhthy

infact ive never seen an anime that was really long that romance was the primary genre

not sure if this post is breaking any rules

but i also post on a sports message board, and the topic of a discussion had come up about a reality TV show that is currently airing in the USA

well i made a point that i didnt watch regular TV, because i found most of the sitcoms and other TV shows to have poor acting and that reality TV was flat out unwatchable

and that all i liked to watch was sports, some movies, and anime

and naturally all of the non-anime fans began bashing me because i said i liked anim

once again i have no idea if i actually broke any rules by posting about another message board so i apologize to the staff if i did

Glad to see people enjoying this new place. :p

Maybe because I'm originally a shoujo fan, and I still need to try more shounen/action series too to give a solid answer, but I agree. Demographic is very subjective so we can't help it if someone says he won't watch shoujo anime because he just doesn't like shoujo, or vice versa. So I found out that trying to open up your scoop and try new things is actually a good idea, to add more to your anime database, haha~ :P

I think romantic anime can't be dragged too long unless there are indeed some points to explore. Not saying Kimi ni Todoke is bad, but it has its slow moments that can be rather painful to watch. Chihayafuru is more of a sport/josei anime, but still it has its romance and there's always enough romance in every episode that doesn't make you feel sick. XDD

Haha, no, I guess it's fine being here. :)

I'd say you don't need to take it very seriously. Each to their own taste. :)

The second season just started, it's really one of the anime that has a cult following, such a rarity. Really pleased when watching it.

You realize that he meant a rather small but really dedicated group of fans, right? :oh
:oh

Good. That's better. :D

But yes it's an awesome show and I can only recommend it too.

Oreimo is awesome, but Hataraku Maou-sama! has been my favorite of the (still new) season so far.

Re: Theater Lounge Hangout

Yeah Hataraku surprised me in a very positive way.
I hope it can keep this level of quality till the end.

Re: Theater Lounge Hangout

I'm sure it will, it's a really fun series. I'm also really enjoying Gargantia, while HenNeko is growing on me. Good so far, but potentially great, once the girls get more involved.
