Matsumoto Taiyo is one of my favorite mangaka, his manga are so good I'm willing to start a thread before reading the series. One volume, newly scanlated, in the style of GoGo Monster and No. 5. It looks epic, read it and tell me what you think! No synopsis to post, or copy and paste from elsewhere.

Re: [FEATURED] Hana by Matsumoto Taiyo

I think I read a weird Doraemon one shot by this same guy. I plan on reading this as well.

Yup, same guy. If you haven't read anything else by him, I wouldn't start with Hana. It's a rewarding read if you've read a lot of his manga, new comers might not like it. Start with Tekkonkinkreet or Brothers of Japan.

I'm not really sure what to say about this one. It seemed like it ended six chapters to early. What story there was did not disappoint, typically beautiful symbolism. I liked the idea of the artist cut off from reality experiencing the real world, while the extrovert stays behind to get in touch with his inner space, to improve his craft. Cool stuff but it felt short and undeveloped. It's based on a play, most of the book is taken up by the script. Don't be surprised by 100 pages of text ^^
