Re: What is The Best OP Fight can you post The Chapter number i thinking of reading OP
here's the thing. in difference to mangas like bleach and naruto, OP fights are ALWAYS more than just the fight. The reason theyre fighting is always nr 1 in OP.
so i could post a couple of chapters with fight but i dont think youd be especially impressed. because you dont have the backstory.
the story is the main thing in OP.
but i seriously advise you to read it anyways! and dont give up while theyre still in east blue. the manga REALLY picks up when they enter the grand line.
so i suggest that you just read it, its the story that has everything(well almost )
Yeah, I second that. A lot of the fights span over multiple smaller fights. Like, you'll have the main character, Luffy, fighting one enemy, but then the next chapter, you'll see a different fight for a few chapters, then two more fights over a few more chapters, then finally back to Luffy. The story is really good, and once you get into it, there is plenty of action, and plenty of fighting.
If you do want to read just a small part, then I personally think one of the most satisfying moments of the manga comes in chapter 224, 225, then 232, 233. I went ahead and put them all in one file so that it's the easiest to understand (I removed some pages that have nothing to do with what's going on). It's taken from the 4 chapters, and you can download it HERE.
It's not the best fight, but it does offer you a little bit of story, and then the fight. You won't understand the everything that is going on, as you'll obviously have missed a lot of plot, but that's one of my favorite parts of the manga. None of the real fights end that quickly, but they're all good. For just a taste of One Piece, I'd say try there.
If you do decide to read, you need to start from Chapter 1.
You can't really say that there's ONE fight that's better than all the rest, it's a matter of opinion. I myself am a fan of Sanji v. Bon Clay, while someone else might like Zoro v. Kaku, and a pervert (okay, all the guys on the forum, including me) might like something along the lines of Nami v. Califa.
few more thing is unlike other adventure-fighting manga usually, one fight in one pice doesn't tend to stay in one place. Moreover, switching enemy is also one of the good parts in one piece battle. and finnaly the other differences is that two combaters can meet few times before the score is settled.
For example:
Luffy vs. Crocodile: Luffy chasing crocodile, defeated -but not complitely- for 2-3 times before the final showdown at arabasta ruin.
Zorro vs. kaku : The fight got interrupted by the foolish mistakes by ussop, and then he run away (with ussop) from kaku, before finnaly he able to fight normally and defeated kaku.
Mugiwara vs. cp9 : Chopper takes the kabuki guys that originally was nami's enemy, than nami take place of sanji to face that secretary girl. and finally sanji defeated the wolf guy that chasing after ussop.
Conclusion : (usually other than luffy's fights) one battle between 2 character in OP are usually connected to other carracter battles. it's hard to find (again, other than luffy's battles) an independence fight that not related to other fights. So there's hard to say that there are best duel in one piece...
My favorites are: (And I'm putting spoilers for anything in the Thriller Barque arc)
Luffy vs. Arlong, because I just LOVED the Arlong arc, but seriously, you CAN'T appreciate this properly unless you've read the whole Arlong arc, and to understand THAT properly, you really need to read all of the preceding chapters, so do start from Chapter 1, "Romance Dawn".
Luffy vs. Enel. This was just fun. The look on Enel's face when he found out Luffy was electricity proof was beautiful, especially when you realize that the guy who looks like that thinks he's a god. And Luffy's use of that giant golden ball stuck to his arm was very creative. And "Gomu Gomu no Baka" was hilarious.
Sanji vs. Jabra. I like Sanji alot, possibly my favorite character after Luffy, and I think this was his best fight. The Devil Leg technique was cool, and he fought a (more or less) werewolf, and I love werewolves. And Jabra's use of Tekkai was very interesting.
Luffy vs. Lucci. One of the most emotionally charged and interesting fights in One Piece. Again, you have almost no chance of understanding it without reading the rest of the series. Gears 2nd and 3rd were awesome and creative, Lucci's use of Shigan and Rokuougan were great, and it was just a very cool fight. Luffy really has gotten alot better, and it was very noticeable if you compare this fight to some of the fights in the early part of the series, (more or less the first 10 volumes, a.k.a. the East Blue Saga.)
Ussop vs. Pelona. Her ability was fascinating, and so were the changes and upgrades Ussop has made to his abilities. They're really quite astonishing. His using Sogeking to give him strength was hilarious, unexpected, and ingenious, as was his pessimism and lack of self-confidence coming in handy. And it was nice to see Ussop do something, he really didn't help much during Enies Lobby, or maybe even Skypiea too. In fact, this may be the first time he was in a serious fight (the fight with Luffy not counting) since he fought Chuu in the Arlong arc! (Unless he DID fight during Skypiea.) I loved the way he finally took out Pelona. It was nice to see "Ussop's Hammer" again. And Pelona LOOKED scared to death at the end. And the "HOLY &@%!#, MY ATTACKS DON'T WORK ON HIM!" face I mentioned earlier that Enel had for half a page got re-used for Pelona, and it was just as funny.
You probably won't understand most of this unless you've read the series, but One Piece is like that.
Oh, and jabbament? I read that preview. That was awesome, the perfect thing to show somebody who wants to know what One Piece is like. (Other then Romance Dawn, of course.) It had the main morals and showcased the character of Luffy well. Good work picking that as a preview.
wel,, I don't know if you can call it a fight or not...
Sanji & Zorro vs. Foxy team in grogy ball match...
It's kinda nice to see those two that usually teasing each other perform an exellent teamwork... ^ ^ thumbs up for that !!!
One Piece, at least for me, is not enjoyable because of its fights. Rather, it is the Strawhat's adventures and the quirky characters that make One Piece what it really is.
If I were to pick a preferred battle though, it would be the Zoro vs Mihawk fight when the Mugiwaras were at Baratie. It was quick but seeing the reactions of people when they were about to fight was great. And it was also great to see that while we know that the Mugiwaras are strong, they still have a long way to go.
In the anime, the Sanji v. Bon Clay fight had really good animation and flowed well, I think. You might want to try that, unless you're trying to read a manga fight.
my favorite fight is obviously lucci vs luffy its the biggest figth yet and i loved it. But i mean just watch luffy vs blueno first it just shows the power of gear 2 and i love it. plus belamy vs luffy was a sick fight although luffy tanked him
You should just type Luffy vs Blueno on Youtube. One of those AMV's (which I mostly don't like) will show you everything you need to know. But there's a spoiler in it, so think about it.
I think it would be best for you to watch some of the earlier fights. You'll enjoy more later.
Luffy vs Kuro maybe.
For me the best one was Luffy vs Crocodile.
Especially with the soundtrack, is awesome btw, and is: Dvorak's New World Symphony. Until today these scene make me chills.
When Croc use his Desert la Spada move, and Luffy Gomu Gomu Storm shatter Croc attack and hit Croc several times, breaking the mausoleum roof, sending him away in the air.
And proving to his crew that he accomplish his promise defeating Croc in order to save Vivi country.
