Chap starts with Heian Era flashback to a festival day where Sukuna was invited. They talk abt praying to Sukuna for bountiful harvest. It's to not gain any hostility from Sukuna. They also gossip abt a hick known for similar barbarity, Yorozu.

A servent asks Yorozu to wear clothes, atleast casual ones for festival. She just puts on a robe and proceeds to have some snacks at the festival which are actually meant for worship. And there she sees the King of Curses

Yorozu falls in love at first sight of Sukuna. She rushes and wraps around Sukuna and consoles him saying "Don't worry, I'm with you". But Uraume attacks. Yorozu falls back n spouts some nonsense but doesn't notices that she was already slashed

And that's how Heian era's Yorozu ceased to exist. Back to present, Yorozu says the loneliness she saw in Sukuna belongs only to her. And she'll be the one to kill him & proceeds to make a giant ball called "True Sphere".

A true sphere is said to be impossible to implement. It can creat inifite pressure since it doesn't have a contact area. It's a sphere that one can't touch. Yorozu then activates her Domain Expansion


Sukuna activate Mahoraga. Yorozu finds it impossible that Mahoraga destroyed True Sphere. Sukuna pops up later and says, "A sorcerer with a bad output efficiency like you will use the CT in a unified way. But whatever you constructed was already adapted"

Despite all that, Yorozu says she's happy that Sukuna knew all that about her. And on the verge of death Yorozu tells to Sukuna, "This is for you. Think that this is me and use it with care for the rest of your life".

Deep in a darkness, a light finally bursts in which finally shows Megumi who had sunk to the bottom of abyss.

Note the parallelism with 119, exactly one hundred chapters ago.

In 119, Sukuna committed a murder and the chapter ended with a desperate Yuji, in 219 he committed a new murder and the chapter ended with a desperate Megumi.

RIP, I guess, to Tsumiki, who was barely even a character.

I agree, this is one of the cases where more insight into the characters would have been welcome, taking into account that Tsumiki was also one of the causes of the current arc

I would have preferred to see Sukuna against Kashimo, but obviously Gege wants to save it for later.

According to Yuji, Yuta should be able to handle Sukuna with 15 fingers, and I don't see why Sukuna wouldn't want to reach his fullest potential.

Well, I don't think he's made a bad impression in the last 50 chapters.

I am being hyperbolic mind you, but he's not really evolved much since his fight with Mahito at least in my opinion, he's been rather stagnant.
The most 'interesting' we got is that he's weirdly durable?

I'm curious to see where Gege goes with this though.

Well, he's incredibly tough, he's the only sorcerer capable of performing consecutive Black Flashes, he can keep up with Maki post-awakening, he beat one of the star players of the Culling Game without cursed energy...

It doesn't seem like cheap stuff to me, honestly.

Well, immediately after the fight against Mahito we had the one against Yuta, in which he didn't make a bad impression (Yuta himself was impressed by his strength) and in the initial phase of the game he behaved more than well against the two rookie sorcerers and Higuruma.

In my opinion, the fact that we hadn't seen him other for about thirty chapters weighs a lot.

It comes off as cheap when everyone else seems much stronger than him, Maki had an easier time dealing with Sukuna than he did.
His current powers or skillsets don't even amount to 10% of Sukuna's power.

I can go on and on but my opinion based on what I've seen from the manga is that Yuji needs a Serious power up, but I'm more curious about how Gege will approach it.

Who are "everyone else"?
At the moment, the only ones who should be stronger than him in 1 v 1 are a few characters, and almost all of them are quite strong.

Compared to the average sorcerer he is still at a very high level.
