Chapter out!
Beautiful, I really liked this chapter, specially after how stale the last few were. As much as I tried to think about this I just couldn't figure out what was it that akiyama had done. First part of his plan is completely flawless. Akiyama throws his ace so that others can bead on it. That other guy offers all of his money which immediately becomes available to akiyama. Even if kimura would have tried to outbit that guy she would have only ended up giving more money to akiyama. In turn with the money akiyama received from that guy he had more than twice what was available to kimura's group so there was no scenario under which they could outbid akiyama. If anything outbidding that guy would have made akiyama richer. More importantly, akiyama took advantage of the fact that pigs don't advance to the next round. The ideal scenario for them is to have a sole winner making a load of money and having as many people as possible removed from the game.
I wonder if there is a flaw in akiyama's plan though. Weren't they cornered for a while now? If akiyama had come forward and told them how screwed they were then there really is no reason for them to have remained in the game. Wouldn't profit have been greater for everyone if all of them had given up their cards so that a sole person wins? Also, isn't nao out of the game by now?
