Incidentally, ardor, you really don't qualify as an Amateur from what I could see by your coloring, I'd call you an Advanced colorist. In any event, good job. ^^

To be honest I was trying something new (to me anyway) when I was drawing the wings. Sometimes I can get too attached to a drawing and not see it's flaws. I wasn't confident enough to see it up against some of the rather impressive advanced colorists so I wanted to get my feet wet in the amateur contest. Maybe I'll request to move up a bracket later but I'm mainly in this for fun and also to get a feel for where I'm at as a colorist.

That's cool - BUT...

We've decided for all the Amateur contests - we're going to move any Amateur colorings we perceive to be Advanced over to Advanced Contest from now on. So if you do something really outstanding I'm afraid that'll be the case from now on :p

But take it as a compliment if it happens. ^^;

So, does that count to your three hits before you're only in the Advanced category or will you still have to win three times to always be in the Advanced category?

Cool, I can see how that rule would be necessary. If it does happen I won't complain.

You will still be allowed to participate in Amateur until you have won it three times. Although if your entry is moved more than one time, we may ask you to stay in the Advanced competition.

Anyway, if that happens to you more than one time, then you'd be considered an Advanced Colorist ;)
